  • NuStar Energy: How An Investment Turned Into A Speculation [View article]
I am long and agree it is more speculative then other MLP;s. However he should have been pointed out if you have been long for a long time one must consider that distribution are not dividends and in many case the distributions contain return of capital. If you sell NS now you should consider your cost basis which will be what you paid minus the return of capital which might cause a capital gain larger then you think.

  • The Fall Of The Electric Car... And The Rise Of The NGV [View article]
This train has run off the track. The original discussion was on ways to reduce demand for foreign sources of hydrocarbons to fuel moving vehicle's. We currently have choices to make before the unstable countries in the Middle East do it for us. I am sure people will be very unhappy when they have wait in line for whatever fuel is available.
The idea of this new windfall of natural gas is currently the best solution that is available seems positive to me. We are already taxing the supply of corn and other oil bearing plants as a solution. Electricity as a solution of moving cars and trucks is not practical with the technology available at this time. The current source of electric power is coal, nat gas and nuclear. Solar and wind power does not have the capacity to replace the former. We should spend money and effort to produce power safely from nuclear energy .
In mean time we need to stop with agendas that are making progress slower then is necessary to solve our problems.

  • Is Windows 8 making a bad situation worse for the (non-Apple) PC industry? NPD believes U.S. retail sales of Windows gear is down 21% Y/Y since Oct. 26, the day Win. 8 launched. Notebooks -24% and desktops -9%. Also, thanks to inventory-clearing and perhaps also a cautious enterprise response, Win. 8 has only made up 58% of Windows device sales since launch time, compared with 83% for Windows 7 in its first 4 weeks. 6% of Win. 8 notebook sales involved touchscreens, and ASPs rose to $477 from $433 in the year-ago period. I believe CLR commented that almost 50 % of their production is being railed to both E and W coasts. I also read BNSF is increasing their capacity to 1 mmbpd in the near future. I don't know if KOG partiscipates but the WTI spread is falling steadly.

Your right the problem is the major distributors of propane have never put any real marketing effort to sell propane to the transportation market. The problem might have do with the availability of a large enough supply of propane to supply that large of market as it is a byproduct of oil and gas drilling and refining

Wish full thinking!! After all the people OB added to his list for taxpayers to pay for and most of his attempts to promote green energy and no way to pay for it you still believe somebody else should pay for your toys and whatever. It is not going to work OB has already drove you over a cliff and shortly you will find out nobody will lend you more money to his or your ideas.

The only solution is spend less then we take in and start to realize that everybody is going to pay more to start to work down the debt. The end of free money is here and OB will find out about it shortly.

I see that market as being a sleeper. The problem is propane could not supply a mass auto mkt because is a byproduct of nat gas drilling and refining and is not as available as nat gas.

The propane has done a lousy job of marketing to this mkt for some reason.

I hope that those who think green energy as proposed and backed by taxpayer dollars get a reality check soon. We are not going to continue to pay subsides to those who want electric plugins or hybrids if you want want one you will have to pay for it. Since the government is running up against another debt limit and regardless of how the election turns out we have maxed the credit card.

In regard to nat gas fueled cars Chrysler and GM have also released for sales HD pickups to general public.
