  • Linn Energy (LINE -4%), like too many other MLPs, "has systematically implemented Ponzi-like strategies designed to capitalize on investor desperation for yield," SA contributor James Kostohryz writes. LINE has systematically distributed far more to unitholders than it has earned from operating activities, and management has long misled investors through unsound accounting techniques, he alleges. • MLPs: Remove The Yield Blinders And Understand The Business Model [View article]
I think maybe this is a bad subject for you to write about. MLP fund capital expansion from income before cash available for distribution the decision to use additional shares as a part of cost of expansion. The main reason you see both being used right now is the demand for infrastructure is expanding much faster then normal. In regards to the rapid growth of up stream MLP's they not a Ponzi scheme as the short sellers are trying to sell but the major E&P companies need for capital and are using either this option or Trusts to monetize developed fields for capital to develop new areas I:E Bakeen,Eagle Pass and Permian Basin

  • Can AmeriGas Partners LP Maintain Its Distribution Growth? [View article]
Add the fact as if Trucks move to natural gas they may also look at propane as a possible fuel. There is also a better infrastructure in place. The main problem the industry does not seem to be interested in expanding their markets beyond tanks for home use and RV's

  • AmeriGas Partners (AGU -5.7%) says the public offering of 6M common units by Energy Transfer Partners (ETP) has been upsized to 7.5M units and will be priced at $47.60/unit. AGU will not receive any proceeds from the sale. (earlier[View news story]
This is does not dilute as Mr Mkt imply 's. The effect is a lot of shares to sell over normal vol. This removes a overhang that hurts APU normal sales. ETP income will be reduced however debt will be reduced also

  • Is Enbridge's MLP Facing A Funding Crisis? [View article]
This is not the first time that distribution has dropped below 1 % when large projects where under way. As in the case with ETP distribution was flat for a period of time. I will stay long EEP as they have the super highway from Canada and the Bakken formation

Time to forget government and get busy based on economics. The lobbyists have been playing a game to stall progress until big oil and chemical companies come on board instead of fighting it.

  • Environmental Decision: Natural Gas Transportation Or Keystone-XL? [View article]
I don't understand the solar power advocates never mention that to install a large scale solar system that a additional system must be installed to back up solar when solar is not producing. That back up system will be idling a large fraction of the time as even gas powered generators cannot come on line instantly. This cost must be added to the cost of the solar system. Ed Lewis does even consider the power system that pays him for his excess electric must keep a generator running so his system does not go dark when the sun is not shinning.

  • Environmental Decision: Natural Gas Transportation Or Keystone-XL? [View article]
Car sales in US are about 15 million in addition there are many million cars and HD trucks plying the highways. Tesla and other electric cars are a minor fraction of this and always will be. In regards to leakage your comments should be directed to the leakage problem from the fleet of trucks and car plying the roads today. Check the numbers and you will be sick. Don't be fooled by the people who want to stop nat gas they have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.

  • Wind And Solar Share Fatal Flaws: Politics And Variability Of Output [View article]
You need to do some research on how to solve the problem when the sun does not shine. You need a backup system to come on line to maintain voltage. The only economic system at present is gas powered generators which you have to price into to your low priced solar panels and windmills. these can cover the change from day to night. The short term disruptions will require generation running all the time as even gas powered generators take some time to come on line. You don't just turn on a switch as you do at home.
