A slob? That seems harsh. Yeah, he wore the same jeans and black dicky every day, but that simple black dickey "look" of his was a collaboration of himself and a well respected Japanese designer. Well, okay, he was a bit of a slob, but still, that seems harsh. ;o)
Is this one of Nokia's (NOK +4.6%) first Windows Phone 8 devices? A Chinese site has posted pictures of what appears to be a yellow Lumia phone with an oversized display. Expectations have grown that Nokia will unveil WP8 hardware, possibly including a PureView phone, at a Sep. 5 Nokia World event. [View news story]
I love the way the design lines disguise the PureView lens bulge. I was concerned about the funky bulge of the 808. If that's a no-slip surface, so much the better. We dropped our $175 Canon P&S, thus, slippery matters at our house.
I'm not a smart phone type, but with a reasonable contract, I'd be tempted to get the PureView for its always-ready camera, if it pans out to be as good as the hype, of course, but I'd be in the second wave, in spite of how much I've always bemoaned MS for myriad and sundry reasons. MS is like a bad penny.
Long NOK with bloody hands from its endless fall. Nothing wrong with AAPL, either, although I missed the boat due to suspicion from a younger Apple's missteps and painful experience with their early hardware.

You don't always need a heavy weight education or resume to succeed big. Example: S. Jobs. Non-engineer, no serious CS design or programming, pushed out of his own company by better corp politicians, questionable emotional stability, and yet, somehow saw how the pieces could fit together for hardware, a software, publishing, music, and animated films. Sometimes, experience, resumes, education, and comparisons just don't tell the real story. We'll see how Elop does, soon enough. I wish him luck and I'm long NOK, but wondering if I have my head screwed on straight.
