Senator Schumer Misses the Full Picture on A-Power's Joint Texas Wind Farm [View article]
So Senator Schumer is against "green" energy?? Ok.
It's all part Obamanomics. Sell green energy support to the nation at election time, while taking money from the Illinois coal producers. Pander to the uneducated, wind fall tax "big oil" when XOM spends $10 billion on cap ex. etc, etc.
It's ok, Schumer will be on the Air America book tour by this time next year.
Recovery is "far from assured" for GM and Chrysler, says former auto task force chief Steven Rattner, who said in a Fortune piece that he was "shocked by the stunningly poor management we found," especially at GM. [View news story]
Since we're talking about lyrics. I especially love the National Ad Campaign from Ford using Blue Oyster Cult- conveniently leaving out one line for Lincoln.
Burn out the day Burn out the night I can't see no reason to put up a fight I'm living for givin' the devil his due And I'm burnin', I'm burnin', I'm burnin' for you
Although a Star, Whitney Could Be Wrong on Goldman [View article]
I am still dumbfounded over Ms Whitney's self proclaimed and esoteric anal-yst "star status." She didn't predict anything a million others didn't already know; except she has a great publisist and CNBC hype for ratings.
PEP is my oldest holding. I bought and forgot. I have done very well with it as a part of a balanced portfolio.
In addition to the divys, it has provided shareholder value with the massive spin off of YUM and multiple buy backs and splits.
Also, they typically split around the 60-70 range. Then after the split it dips for a month or so, then heads back up, steadily. That may be a good opportuntiy to get back in.
Having said that, as a long term holder of PEP, I am very concerned about the new target painted on this industry. Be it soft drinks of potato chips, when the Pelsoi party secures their talons in the backs of American, they feel as if they need to protect people against themselves. As you know, people are inherently stupid so we need big governement to control us; what we eat and drink. America is fat and they are targeting soft drinks and snack foods; rather than promoting a balanced diet and exercise.
Last year it was "BIG EVIL OIL" and this year its "BIG EVIL JUNK FOOD." I believe NY is thinking of a special tax on "junk food."

From a client POV. I have worked with ACN, INFY, WIT.
What you fail to mention here is that INFY and WIT take twice as long to do half the work. Then the amount of time it takes to have another company redo their work. How do you account for that on a balance sheet?
Oh yeah, then there is the Satyam accounting methods to consider....

The CS downgrade of DVN and CHK was a laugh. That means strong buy.
APA getting ready to hit 100 again. And MRO strong buy on valuation.
Obama special interest delaying the inevitable power gen conversion from coal to nat gas...

You didn't comment on the Satyam account methods or the general quality of the work or the bureaucratic culture. I'm very familiar with these points.
I'll stick with ACN and you can try to time INFY/WIT...maybe they will be back to the 2000 levels in 10 more years or the 2007 level again.
Time in the market; not timing the market.

Your missing BRF here. The small cap stocks will benefit the most with the Olympics.
The Olympics are a great way for a country to get into more debt. The cities may recognize economic growth, but the country will not benefit.
