Not familiar with that observation, and I mean with sincerity the superlative hydrocarbon finds, advantaged gas at a minimum, for which interested parties are currently shopping. The litter of politics, hedge funds, message boards, etc. can't hide the propitiousness of the IOC long at this point of commercialization.

A least we are past the asset arguments. Next you'll tell us another member of the BOD used to be in the circus. Better not be the Butterfly Circus.

Good point on the institutional holders. Also doubt 3 IB's would stay involved for over 18 months if this were a fraud.
Shorts are most likely highly leveraged to the upside and are keeping the spring tightly coiled until deals are announced.

  • InterOil's Increasing Value Proposition [View article]
FeeltheHeat2 is hung up on insufficient testing. I did not sit this well, analyze cuttings, gas chromatograph, or was I present for the DST's and side wall cores. I have seen the logs on the last 4 holes, and know reef and reef trends. The Elk/Antelope is a dandy field, period. The T2 promises to be at least as good. Promises not kept is perhaps a valid argument, but IOC has had a hell of a current to swim against. Still, the time from discovery to first gas will be very good, even if first gas is 2016. Take your shots Heat, shorts are going to get toasted as many feel they are trapped.

  • Interoil Valuation Based On PNG Comparables And A Rovuma Field Comparison [View article]
Correct on PRE as it relates to your "contingent" language, although "conditional" is the more oft used language. The IB's have chosen conforming, based on percentage of buy-in. I don't know of the other qualifiers that may turn a conforming to a non-conforming bid. The several bids received yesterday were not identified as to contingent or not. I believe the eventual winning bid has not been submitted yet...and that would be a total take out of IOC. Either way, any way, more testing is not the hair in the ointment factor.

"no non-contingent bid will be announced without an EWT"

You tried to trick me. Of course it wouldn't be announced. It wouldn't be the winning bid.
All attempts at humor aside, wouldn't a contingent bid would be one outside the parameters of the RFP/B? What would a "non-contingent bid" look like?

You've got me there; on all counts. I guess that's why they play the game. Let's check the score when the winning bid is announced.

Yes, arriving at a value from a resource estimate was a leap, albeit an extremely conservation one. We are speaking of factors and multiples, simple math, and with the resource estimate increasing tomorrow, it is a check to the multiple category.
    Your testing hypothesis is balderdash.

The GLJ lists several factors, with the worst case scenario of the IOC share value at ~ $9.6B for E/A. The bidders access when bringing in A3 will be the value add factor we see when the winning bid is announced. So soon.

  • Why Royal Dutch Shell Needs To Acquire InterOil Now [View article]
Age of formation doesn't dictate rock attributes, depositional environment does; and reefs develop in "trends", or as I have heard from some posts here, "string of pearls".
