I saw nothing at all in the Charts of USO or OIH that indicated further erosion, the previous volatility was conspicuously absent, maybe that's what I should be worried about.

This is typically what ones hears when a turnaround has already occurred or when the worst has been seen.
Insiders have been stepping up to the plate and buying up their own distressed assets but hey, they must not know what they are doing.
Take your so called analysis of USO. What do your Charts indicate about its direction? Forget about what you "think" will happen, what does the Chart indicate?
"It is quite amazing". yes it is. For months you used Charting to identify crumbling stocks. Now they are conspicuously absent, Why? Is it because they no longer support the view stated in your article?
My opinion, USO is basing. Show me, from a Technical perspective, how I am entirely wrong. The same for OIH and CHK.

I heard a comment over the weekend that Nat. Gas prices will double from present levels by the end of the year for the reasons listed above.
Seasonality is another big deal which comes into play around this time every year.
