Lead Acid Batteries: How Cheap Beat Cool at Google [View article]
I've seen battery Tech ideas come and go. The fact remains, this news came out on April Fool's day, yet almost two weeks later, AXPW's stock price remains unaffected. The Market appears to have ignored the News.

Maya: the sale occurred at the end of Feb. 2009, AXPW has been below $3 for more than18 months.
John has always maintained that he no longer has a position with the company. The connection is not listed in his profile and he has been asked often in the past about specifics on it but has denied knowledge because he is no longer with the Company.
Simply, I would like to know if I have been tossed a curve. I have been following AXPW since it was $2. John has been adamant about its prospects throughout.
I did not like the chart so I did not buy the stock, Had I bought it, I would be down 50%.
If he has a vested interest in promoting AXPW outside of mere ownership, I would like to know about it.
It would not change My view of the company, but it may change the views of others.

You said it all John, "How Cheap beat Cool".
But it doesn't apply to Old Tech made new.
Cheap beats cool in the "li-ion" adaptations for batteries. Lead-acid/lead-carbon are not even considered. Green Car Congress/Popular Science, the Hype is on Li-ion varieties.
A few years down the Road, as you say, GM and others will realize the cost advantages of Lead based batteries in Future PHEV models.
The Volt comes on in 2010, future models translate into 2011-2012. Lead variations may have to wait until 2013.
In my opinion the "Cool" aspect relates to the Usage of Li-ion itself, not the mundane "lead" varieties no matter how cheap.
But that's the same opinion that I've had all along, Lead is not Cool.

I don't disagree with you John, "preferences are preferences, its a no win situation" to me means that the Road is to eliminate lead regardless of the Costs involved.
Coal will have Carbon Caps. So what if most of the electricity in the nation is coal derived, The Agenda is to decrease/eliminate Carbon emmission. The consumer will pay this as well.
The Government will tell the Consumer what is in their best interests.

John: Preferences are just preferences. Its a no win situation.
I have never believed that AXPW would survive because of the inherent use of Lead. I understand about cost and efficiencies, etc., you know this.
Lead is still lead and The Greens will resist any usage which will extend its use.
The Stimulus Package should show you that Cost is not going to be an issue on the road to Energy Independence. I can see its usage on a niche basis but that's about it.
Only another Immediate Energy Crunch will save AXPW.
Such a crunch is not foreseeable at this point. IMO

John L: What's $4 Billion here or there between friends?
Instead of subsidizing the Oil companies, I would use it to streamline the EPA"s Permiting Regulations. If its approved on the Federal Level, its approved.
Its going to be Built in your back yard.
An example of Milking the system. O'Hare airport was in the process of expansion. Homes being built in the area were selling at substantially reduced prices because of the expansion. Once in, the Home Owners lobbied and won in their efforts to tone down the Noise Pollution in their area. Cost the Taxpayer hundreds of Millions extra.
Building in coastal and flood prone areas, Areas subject to intermittant Storm damage. Disaster strikes, gee whiz, who would have thought that the flood of the Century would be repeated within 20 years. Why should the rest of the nation foot the bill for idiocy?
If you put yourself at risk, you alone are responsible.

I agree with spending on renewable inclusions into the infrastructure program. What I am concerned about is whether the small "new" tech companies will get anything at all. There will be a bidding process, will any of them be able to compete?
You are talking about "Bang for the Buck". In the present low energy cost environment, I believe that the lowest cost bidders will get the contracts not the ones with future cost savings.

John, just watch. On this side of the Pond, the only Real Change was the President, otherwise its the same old Pork Pushers.
If it was as simple as you believe, TARP would have passed without a change back in September/Oct., the votes were there for the Dems, but they backed off when the Republicans opposed it. Both House and Senate have been under one roof since 2006.
Besides, in case you missed it, Obama has already stated that he expects to sign the bill sometime in the next two weeks.

Or is that a different director who somehow managed to sell 40,000 shares of AXPW at $3.00 just a bit ago.
And still holds more than 400K of stock.

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.
Doing otherwise will eliminate Jobs galore in the Current Auto Industry Infrastructure.
All Electrics will eliminate almost everything under the Hood. From the Builders to Suppliers to Service stations to dealers, etc.
Bankruptcy would be a better solution than going to an All Electric. Europe is better suited and the UK is already building charging posts.

The PHEV is an intermediate step. Its been around since the Beginning of the Millenium.
Why not go straight to the target instead of circling the wagons. All Electrics, Hydrogen. Get away from Oil alltogether. IMO
