My buddy (Victor, who is all in on Axion like me) called the Mad Money phone number today and gave one of the producers (Kate) the Axion sales pitch. He is quite a talker and he said he told her all the stuff I spoon feed him daily (NS, BMW, GM, JPM) and he said she was quite amused and sounded interested in Axion's story. Maybe she will mention it to Cramer, who knows. 8-))

All, I had this discussion with JP last week. We know after the latest form 4 filing that Quercus (anybody know the correct pronunciation?) have sold 826,000 shares. If they amend they will be limited by the four week avg volume for the 4 previous weeks prior to the 12-19 start of the latest form 144 filing. Here are the numbers.

    wk 11-21 1438163
    wk 11-28 1132643
    wk 12-5 3131043
    wk 12-12 1870152 total 7572001
    4 week avg 1,893,000

    1,893,000 - 850,000 = 1,043,000

They can amend their 144 registration and up the sales count to ,1,893,000 by adding up to 1,043,000 more shares for sale.

If they amend and add the max and the volume holds up, they could still be done by the end of January or mid Feruary. We may get 6 or 8 weeks w/o Quercus in the market prior to the end of March.

If they amend to the max, they will be down to approx. 1.8 mil to sell after the end of March.

They are helping us right now with liquidity and it has not stalled the current rise.

    Thanks Quercus! 8-))

Froggey: I have an 05 Prius. To get an aftermarket plug you also have to buy additional batteries, yes? The size of the additional batteries will determine how far you can go in electric only but the price is steep. Are you saying that just by adding a plug to the factory prius will get you 1.7 miles in electric only versus half that without the plug?
When you say "the latest version", are you talking about the 3rd generation prius? You can force the engine off to run in electric only mode?

The PHEV Prius coming soon will have a plug and a bigger more expensive battery. I thought I read it could go 10 or 15 miles electric only and it will have a button to disable the ICC. The additional battery capacity, once drained will not be recharged by the ICC or regen braking and will need to be plugged in for a recharge. After the additional battery is drained it will run like my prius.

In a mild hybrid the electric motor will assist during normal cruising and acceleration (both cases with ICC on) to improve MPG and when first starting from a stop (for a second or two while the ICC fires up), also improves MPG. Based on my Prius experience and if you don't have a lead foot you could IMO get 10 or 15% MPG improvement with a mild hybrid versus no hybridization.

Lastly, when I start my prius it won't go electric only at first unless you let it sit and warm up (waste gas) so for the first couple miles the ICC is running anyhow. Until it warms up all the necessary components the ICC will run even if you stop. In slow old man mode (55 or 60 MPH on the freeway and a lot more coasting to stops) I can get 55MPG on average. Driving the speed limit and some coasting (occurs naturally now) I get 47 or 48 MPG on a regular basis. The extra cost of the "plug" won't be worth it IMO.

Probably to much info. Hope this helps.
    thx

HTL: Those rose colored glasses look good on you. Thanks for another laugh. I really like that one so I will put mine on as well and I don't think they will come off for a long time.

Plus, more revenue = slower burn rate.

realist2: Please tell us all what purpose a plug would serve on a micro, mild, or full hybrid?
    thanks

WDD: very nicely written. I am one of those "people who are really foamy-mouthed about AXPW ..." but I thought I wiped it all off.

HTL: Love your humor man! Keep up the good work and keep sharing your TA.

I was able to answer my own question. "zero energy building" means energy neutral. They will generate approx. as much energy from solar and wind as they think they will use.

Grid tied means energy created in excess of what is needed during peak generation times will be fed back into the grid and during off peak generation times the grid will supply the additional energy needed. At least that is how it worked with my solar system. I wonder if there is a feed-in-tariff which would allow them to be paid for their excess peak generation and then they buy it back at night at a lower cost?

    wt, good questions.

I was also wondering what "zero energy building" means?

Your assumption about the size of the system and selling power to the grid seems correct, but the statement "will provide demand response energy storage" is confusing.

I used to have a 4.2 kW DC array on my house in Livermore which provided enough electricity for my 1300 SQFT home. After a year I had a total electric bill of approx. $60. A 32kW system is not small which ties into my "zero energy building" question.
