I would love to provide a reference but the information comes from a Kia salesperson who just went through a training seminar on the Kia S/S system. This is what Kia is training him to tell his customers.

If I can acquire any training manuals or materials I will pass it along.

The South Korean automaker, Kia, has introduced Start/stop technology in its 2012 line of vehicles ( optional of course). They tout the fact that a AGM battery will run the accessories when the motor is off. They also are informing the public that if the AGM is ever fully discharged then the car cannot be"jump-started". Rather, it has to be towed in so the battery can be trickle charged. Apparently jump starting can cause bad effect with AGMs.

I find this curious since we, in this blog, know that running accesories off of an AGM will degrade an AGM in several months. In the long run this could be very positive for Axion.

Lets hope the car manufacturers discover Axion's solution long before the buying public gets fed up with the whole idea of S/S technology and its existing problems.

    Bang,
So lets say someone makes a supercooled flywheel. No friction, No loss of energy. Could make an interesting energy storage device.

It was so pleasant to actually have an Axion concentrator where your EV Bling/ Slant/ Warp view wasn't necessary to be heard. I respect the fact that you have it. I respect the fact that you can try and bring your subject to light in articles discussing the negative or positive effects of Electric Vehicles.

But bringing your nonsense here is just plain rude. I'm not sure of your age but I would bet the total of TSLA's market cap your younger than I. At whatever age you are I can guarantee that I never stepped into someone's home and yelled Fire, for no obvious reason.

No one brought up TSLA. No one wants to debate it here. Other threads, you bet.
You should really consider your forum before making pronouncements.

Don't go away. I like science fiction. Often it turns into reality.

The interesting part of all future projections is the enormous infrastructure cost of the proposed future solutions. When you compare those to a debt filled economy ( medicare, social security, etc) I don't see innovative solutons coming on for at least 15-20 years.

In other words we can't make progress until we can adequately pay for it. Which is why a simple cost savings device like the PbC is so irresistible right now.

    Fearless Freddy,
"Without government subsidies there would be no Erie Canal or Transcontinental Railroad."

This is true. Without government subsidies there would be no highways. No Canals, bridges,or locks and dams or airports.

But those societal improvements were made without the government subsidizing the trucks, barges, boats, airplanes, or other modes of transportation used on societal highways,by-ways,rivers, or airspace.

Taxing me so someone else can buy a new toy is simply undemocratic.

I know it sounds unsympathetic but times do change circumstances.
Years ago you could build a farm house next door to another pig farmer and have a certain odor come across your yard now and then.
Today you find your neighbor building a confined pig operation that houses 10 times more pigs and has a 365/24 hour per day stench that makes it so one can't breathe.

Same could be true of railyards. They use to pollute a little and now they pollute a ton. I'm not saying everyone's innocent. Only that the last to build might have not been as stupid as they appear.

Kinda like the person who bought a house contemplating that it would rise in value. Just because it didn't rise doesn't make that person stupid for buying the house.

63 seconds: easier with a mouse than tracing a finger on my tochscreen. I hope I can ween myself away from this addictive game.
Its like Axion stock. The price moves within the little box with many obstacles keeping it from breaking out.

A second scotch seemed to help slow the whole game down. But I haven't beat 29 seconds yet.

    LabTech,
I often marvel at the lack of understanding of the media when talking about batteries, and again marvel at the technological understanding of us investors. I actual know that the hotel load of a S/S system is 90% of the problem. Apparently the media does not know this.

Here is wishing well to Axion and their solution to the prblem.

I haven't read Maudlin. You have probably provided this before but do you have a couple books you would suggest?

small numbers in comparison to the past 6 months.

I have a hard time believing they will sell much at this price. However, I do worry that a major market meltdown will require both large mutual fund holders to sell no matter what the cost. I hope I can raise cash prior to any awful downtrend just in case a return of 2009 happens.,

Just To add another layer of speculation:

I just finished Harry Dent Jr's new book " The coming crash ahead".

Excellent reading and he makes a fine case for a world stock market crash based on demographics and a credit squeeze. I'm not buying into the theory just yet, but he makes a good case. If he is right and the markets will retreat by more than 50% what of Axion? Sales can still ramp. Growth can still happen.
Credit will be difficult to come by. New stock sales could be hindered. Shorting the russell 5000 is one great way to play a down market. Is Axion a beacon of light in dark days ahead or will it suffer like all other stocks?

Just asking for the sake of discussion.

" Nothing we don't already know".

And many things we know not to be true. Such as decreased battery cost and lower cost of production, etc, etc, etc. Same old bad fact story. But, they did point out how awful the EV sales numbers really are.
