    Occam,
That's because until the train goes down the track or a class 8 truck goes down the highway, as working units, we simply don't have proof that the product works in the real world.
This is what makes it a dicey investment, even today.

    AP,
I like what you are explaining. I see the islands as a grand wind and solar grid experiment. Everything is on a large enough scale that systems can be made efficiently. ( 2.5 MW or multiples of that number) However, not all systems can store the energy needed and be used for grid frequency regulation. The bonus is the smoothing effect the PbC provides to the grid operator. On small islands where the grid is small the PbC PowerCube might be the right ticket. I thought it interesting that TG said in the CC that the PowerCube was competitive on a "cost per cycle" basis.
I'm not sure anyone has ever computed that figure before, but it sounds like a decent measuring stick. " I'm buying storage for an entire island" How much does each cycle cost.

    VW,
Your suggesting Oreo lovers think alike? Not so sure. I'm a double stuff guy. More cream less chocolate.

    Charlie,
It is not unusual for the members here to go off on extremes.
My favorite was the secret testing train loco that had to be out there because NS isn't silly enough to buy batteries and just let them sit. Well, they bought batteries, let them sit, and now need a boost charge. Much easier and cheaper than buying new batteries. This charger thing is no big deal.
We know that a simple boost charge can extend the battery life of a PbC battery. I'm sure that the chargers were always part of the deal. They just were not needed till the train was about ready.
Please try and not wear HTL's TFH until you are truly ready. :-)
    BTW: welcome aboard

    Concerning the CC.

I am always trying to put what TG says in historical perspective. Which in itself is interesting since I thought Axion was a short term purchase situation in 2009. In any event, this is the first time that the PowerCube has been ranked as the #1 driver of future sales. Trucks are #2. Trains #3.
Auto barely a mention. How does that fit in with what we know?

We know that Axion has bid well over 10 PowerCubes projects ranging in size from 10Kw to over 10MW. We know that 2.5 MW is the sweet spot for competitive bidding. I would venture a conclusion that the 2.5 MW competitive bid was discovered in the bidding process for the upcoming substantial sale announcement. In negotiations with inverter suppliers, ect the magic number was found. I'm guessing the first island nation PowerCube of 2.5 MW will be hooked to a solar array in the islands. That along with the Ferc rules gives the PowerCube an immediate sales advantage over the other products.
( BTW. Did anyone else catch that the unannounced substantial buyer had funding issues? Think Island Nation funding. My WAG)

We know the ePower schedule. 56 batteries times ten trucks for the immediate future. Ramping up next year. Thanks for the constant updates JP. Ramping up to $100M in annual sales in the long run. JP, I wish your company great success. All now understand the future potential for you and Axion.

NS. They came third I believe. This indicates to me a slow test period for the yard slug. The OTR loco moving at snails pace. I'm not saying that rail isn't a future whopper. Just saying that TG is letting us know the future as he sees it.

Auto. Whenever they get around to it.

The future as defined by TG. I believe he also said the next funding is for operating income. Not solely for expansion. This is backtracking and an indication of how slow the sales decisions are being made. Just a short while ago the next funding would be for expansion only.

85% of the Axion sales ($8.5 Million) are the toll contract. If Axion cuts that to 50% of sales it is an increase of 14,150 PbCs at approximately $300 apiece. Now that may seem like one or two substantial orders but it isn't really all that unlikely for the entire fiscal year.

Unless my math is wrong, which has happened before.

" It hasn't always been easy. The blades from one of the rotors put into the river in 2006 broke on its first day and the currents chewed up other early models to the degree that they had to be taken out of commission. "

The greatest part of the story is to see how long it has taken to develop an underwater turbine that works. About the same length of time to build a lead acid carbon hybrid battery capacitor.

I don't find this odd. I'm sure the chargers were to be ordered within a set time prior to the launch of the 999.
Since the launch was delayed, so was the charger order.

At least that is what it seems like to me.

Just got caught up on the call and all the comments. Have a couple days off after a tough month. I wanted to comment that nothing in the cc was unexpected. But the call did put a spring in my step.

We heard positively about the rail program. I'm sure it was disappointing to all who thought the secret loco was out testing. But we did find out that NS allowed Axion to tell us why it wasn't out. And that it will roll out. This gives me a little bounce. Sometimes we forget the basics. Like how important it is for the rail yards to quit polluting when they are located in metropolitan areas. Big market out there for yard slugs.

We heard positively about the PowerCube. With the new FERC rules on pricing Axion has a product that fits a customers needs and provides some payback. There are a lot of renewable energy providers out there. They all need storage to work effectively.

We heard that are most awaited "substantial order" is coming in the next 44 days. I'm betting on an island nation PowerCube order. Others might be reading between the lines differently, but that's my sense of it.

On the whole all we have been told is coming to fruition. Not in the order or way we thought. But it is coming. Cubes, trains, and trucks. All giant markets. All with big growing pains when one takes off. A little bit of each market makes me very "bouncy bouncy".
But I have been here for a long time and felt this way before.

I have asked myself the same question Metro. It makes no business sense to me that developing locos and rail yard slugs that save gas and pollutants are put on the back burner.

I have to assume that all is well with the program. I say that because of the public hand shaking. I also assume something physical is wrong with putting the parts together. Thus no action.

I guess a third scenario could be that secret testing is taking place and the large order is forthcoming. That would be the "Edward Snowden theory"

For those waiting to buy AXPW on the way up, I suggest you look at the short term price ZBB chart. I have held for a long time. I can't guess where I would have bought back in. Was it after the first jump. The second. After todays 10,000,000 share volume and 60% rise?

I'm thrilled for all the Axion bottom feeders that bought at the bottom. Just have no idea when it will explode up and when to buy on the way up.

Here is a link to a page on CPT's web site that talks about the electrification project worked on by Ford, CPT, Valeo. IMHO, all things keep pointing back to Valeo.

    Nice point Mr. I,

Hyundai/Kia just settled their "bad mpg claims" lawsuit that ended in an expensive class action suit. Their commitment to customer satisfaction and quality could lead them to pick the best product.
