  • 3 Billion Reasons Why Tesla's Gigafactory Will Be A Bloodbath [View article]
Long time no see John. (I have not commented overall on SA because I don't have the time.)

John you seem to know everything, but you don't have everything.

You remind me of my finance professor in college. He gave me an "F" on my midterm, because I didn't solve his problem his way he taught in class. I did solve the problem another way, came to right answer, and shown the work. He still gave me no credit. He had a Masters in Finance, but he was no "master of finance." He reminds of you, plus he kinda looks like you too.

I was better off listening to Elon at the June 2012 shareholder meeting (when I asked him the question about the Model S sales), then taking your advice here and there, thereafter. I had some gains, but I was better off holding the stock.

By the way, I recently bought in again at $194, after my original buy at $24. Again, you will give me a reason to sell, but I am not going to listen anymore.

At the end of the day, even after all your great analysis, Elon Musk builds a good business. So good, that many invest in his company and will continue to do so.

Yes, Tesla is accelerating Hard -- Way past the critics.

Though Nick, I wouldn't recommend trading options (gambling) and I believe Warren Buffet (person you admire) wouldn't either. Just research and buy shares (investing).

It is funny how analysts upgrade after it has gone up and then downgrade after it has gone down. The real analysts make the call before, not after the fact. I guess that is why anyone can be an analyst.

There is too much focus on short-term price. Tesla will be able to sell every car they make. Now put a price on that.

  • Tesla's Balance Sheet Is Worse Than I Expected [View article]
John, Is that the best you can come up with today?

Looking at it from a finance professor's perspective things looks bad, but from a business person's perspective, things looks fine. And if they want to say raise another $100M, by issuing say 3M odd shares or so, then so be it. I rather the company long term, succeed. The company is worth at least $3B, regardless.

I evaluated the possible risks and concluded good rewards.

  • Tesla Motors (TSLA) demonstrated its new battery-swapping technology last night at an event in California. The automaker is building the service into its supercharger network and claims drivers will be in and out of the EV stations with a fresh battery faster than drivers refilling at a gas station. [View news story]

It feels like a Sunday. I am not familiar with the options play. I rather stick to shares. Another way, is to buy light now (current price) and then buy heavy later (lower price). It all depends on your objective.
