The way we're growing corn, soy, and other crops with industrial agriculture is destroying our topsoil, increasing global warming, and poisoning our waterways. And if that weren't dumb enough, using crops to make ethanol takes more fossil fuel energy than what's contained in the ethanol (negative EROEI). Don't believe any statements to the contrary that are not backed by peer-reviewed science articles. Pro-ethanol talk is sheer opinion, about as meaningful as a horoscope.

Growing corn and soybeans also depletes our topsoil, eutrophies lakes, streams, and the Gulf of Mexico, increases global warming, and has negative EROEI. Pro-ethanol statements not backed by peer-reviewed science journal citations are just opinions, about as meaningful as astrological charts.
