  • The New Math in Washington, Part II [View article]
It was the night before Christmas, and all through the Senate The Left voted for a health care bill, no matter what was in it The majority of people don't want this kind of reform But Democrats blew off the gathering anti-tax storm “We'll need more pork” , they cried with a grin “More handouts for all, will keep us voted in!” They knew hard working folks want less Government help "but let's tax them right now,” they cried with with a yelp So try as they might, Republicans could not win Because Democrats common sense was simply too thin And then a few holdouts raised such such a clatter That the Senate Libs rushed to see what was the matter All sprang up from their desk and ran from the floor Straight through the cloakroom and right out the door And what in the world would be quite so raucous? But a lot of bribe money for the Democratic caucus The president, and Harry Reid, knew what to do More handouts and Pork for Nelson and Landrieu More rapid than eagles, the provisions they came And they whistled and shouted and called them by name “Doctor Shortages, rationing, Strip medicare, what a plan!” Amnesty, Abortion and Higher taxes! 'Yes, we can!” “No exclusions or changes for Lawyer Lawsuits, Hurry! Don't read it ! We'll look so astute.” The Democrats all came together because of some bribes . At the expense of taxpayers that Christmas Eve night And then in a twinkle, I heard under the dome The roll call was closed, and it was time to go home Despite a few heroic tactics of some The filibuster had broken, the wrong side had won And a poor bill was ready for President Obama Ready to sign and begin the sad health care drama Democrats explained as they drove out of sight “ Big Government for us and less Constitutional Rights."

  • The New Math in Washington, Part II [View article]
My forecast for the HC overhaul if passed-
    1. healthcare remains just about the same for 90% of Americans as it was before
2.massive profits for the insurance industry(yes I know about the services paid clause and resulting limitation on profits margin. Don't fool yourself, they will find a loophole and make a disgusting amount of money via number 3.)
3.The taxpaying class(NOT the rich with their pricey attorneys and loopholes, who are not the ones responsible to pay for it anyway) will get fleeced with the bill. A day will now have 36 hours instead of 24 to allow the middle class to work a third or fourth job in order to pay their bills and the rest of the country's medical expenses.
    Viva la free healthcare!

  • Ford's Plan to Undercut GM's Volt [View article]
I've said this several times regarding the volt, and it still holds true-
    volt
    Cost of vehicle and gas(@2.70/gal) @15000 miles a year for 5 years-$40,880
    Honda Civic
    Cost of vehicle and gas(@2.70/gal) @15000 miles a year for 5 years--$23,232
I can't for the life of me how GM is thinking the is going to sell without $25,000 in rebates and incentives.

  • American Dream 2: Fun with Dick and Jane Deleveraging [View article]
To say that strategic foreclosure is wrong, while banks, auto companies, and such take bailouts due to equally bad/stupid decision making, is hypocrisy. Americans are following the lead of the corporate world and doing what is best for them, instead of doing whats right. Look at the result-conduct bad business/build crappy cars, get billions in bailout money. Can you really blame the consumer for following suit?

  • It's About Unemployment, Stupid [View article]
Not to worry, there is another round of bailouts and stimulus that will cause a short, fleeting jolt to the economy, paid for through taxes. As long as you dont want permanent employment, or pay taxes, everything will be fine.

  • While many of the ideas coming out of the jobs summit are long-term debt neutral, many will require some initial spending, and why not use leftover TARP money that's coming back in? Because it's unethical at best, says Daniel Indiviglio - and at worst, illegal.  [View news story]
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Using our money to do it. Someone gets it!

Correct, and until the fools wake up and realize only they are able to help themselves out, by gettting off of their collective asses and becoming useful to society, will the suffering for them cease. We are to the point that the education you get in college is so useless in the real world that you may as well light fire to a pile of 40,000 and go work directly at Home Depot.

Where do you think most of Ford and GM's cars are assembled? America?! They sent most of their factories to Mexico and Canada long ago.

  • The Economics of Credit Card Debt [View article]
A person who is able to pay their cc bills at 12% interest and misses one payment; which causes the interest to climb >100%, is not, in my definition, irresponsible. Another case is the person who financed a moderately expensive vehicle in 2007- It very well could have been completely in ones budget at the time, but fast forward two years, now the budget is being eaten up by rising utilities, inflation, increased tax to pay for two "wars", unemployment tax, bank bailouts, auto bailouts, mortgage bailouts, etc etc etc. It is not the burden of the average citizen to compensate for the fallout of our elected leaders and Wall St. destroying the economy, causing massive budget crises for said citizen.

  • Geithner's 'Deeply' Held Belief in the Dollar [View article]
I applaud your article, however, America needs to pull their collective heads out of their asses(apparently a tv is up there showing non stop episodes of "Survivor:Birmingham", or whatever people are watching today). A little bit of news reading should inform the general public of what is going on in their country, articles like your should NOT BE NECESSARY, as the dollar de-leveraging, middle class money swipe for bailouts, etc etc. events are plastered everywhere is newspapers, but very few dwell on the info long enough to process it. We cant move onto solving the problem until we are aware of it.

  • Healthcare Reform: Two Extremes, Neither Focusing on Health [View article]
No one is going to get filthy rich by providing affordable, dependable, and efficient health care, which is why we have, and will continue to have, expensive, hard to access, cluster*ck type health care.
