steel is used a the base for holding the blades. the blades are carbon fiber and a cured resin because steel would be too heavy. the size of the blades are huge compared to the base tower. the mass of the blades are many times that of the base mass. use of these blades requires significant increase in production of carbon fiber and the resin binder.
curing of the blades takes a long time because time required in the mold to avoid distortion.

actual user of glass fiber, carbon fiber, and binder resins.

cap and trade is coming. utilities will find it cost effective to use ng . some are already in process. see business week oct 19 for the details. remember that ng has half the co2 emissions of coal. it is readily available and utilities can install the necessary combusters

also, be appraised that the epa has a ruling from the supreme court that co2 is a pollutant and emissions can be controlled. ng is the most cost effective way to reduce emissions at this point.

why does the european single payer systems work. i dont hear of
people being less healthy there than here, and the cost is 60% less.

maybe because they have a healthier life style. in the us fat is in.
heve an extra fat tax on each insured and see the usage drop.

one further point on the use of coal. how many of you have been to a coal fired power plant and seen the tremendous amount of water needed wash out the fly ash in the exhaust scrubbers. watch what is done with the wet fly ash. dumped in huge ponds so the water can evaporate out. no one can move the wet ash while wet. once ash is transportable it is carted off to some dump site as inert earth. this cost many bucks. this is an obsolete means of power production.
    bring on alternative fuels.

jimbo, heat absorbtion is a characteristic of the carbon dioxide gas. check out any welding manual. its used in shielded gas welding to absorb heat.
it not my experiment . the industry would not use it unless it served a purpose. you sound like one who does not believe the global warming
    occurring.

the presidents position is irrelevant when utilites are beginning to switch to nat gas from coal in prep of carbon cap on their own. check out the business week article of oct 19. the bill has already passed the house. oboma sounds like he is in bed with the coal industry and the chamber of commerce. some big compaines have withdrawn form this organization because of its blind resistance to emission caps.

also, the recent supreme court decision ruling the epa the riight to
limit CO2 emissions will put further pressure on polluters to change.

you doubters of warming are far right lemmings. al talk but no facts.

this comparison is silly. the time frames mentioned have no relationship to the time span of todays market top or down and up.

the goal of cap and trade is to force fuel users to use les polluting ng, solar, wind, etc. some are making changes now to anticipate the changes coming. change will require cap ex to make the conversion.
this wil not be lost as consumer expenditures are. china and india
will require some international encouragement like a tax on goods exported until climate legislation is adopted.

we are cooking ourselves to death with the c02 emissions. something globally has to be done.

  • Correction Still Coming, Just Later than Expected - Bartels [View article]
75 i can see, 39 no way is it relevant. the market had made several major bull and bears moves form 1929 on.

2003 is a questionable comparison. the economy was just beginning to see the consumer using home equity to fuel the expansion. no so today. in fact, interest option arms will begine reset in 2010, and a new wave of defaults is in the cards. the first rally in that bottom lasted 70+ weeks and no gov stimulus was used except interest rates.

the gov stimulus will help from infrastructure spending, but the consumer is dead.

  • Will the Market Rally Continue? [View article]
i fail to see any signals from your block traders graph. the level is in the same range as early 2008. in fact, the snp began its decent from these levels.

i like the advance devline index of max moving average advances to min moving average of declines. it is now indicating the last rally in the nasd before the current has been accompanied by a lower peak then the previous four since mar. although the current rally has yet to peak, the last to me is a warning to be careful, and that some correction may be coming, the depth of which, no one can guess. if the current rally of max and min moving advances and declines goes higher than the last, good news. i am waiting this out before doing anything.

this is my own work and unpublished yet. not making any predictions because no one can guess a trend current top until it has happened.

the secualr bear can be down for 16- 20 some years and still have substantial rallys in between. can many call these rallys. i think not.
since 2000 the trend has been down. maybe in 5 years a new secular bull will occur. till then be careful. i am only 20% in stocks since my age is 70 and i am retired.
