    5 years is not a long enough sample to be representative of the performance differences between large and small stocks over the longer term. The available pool of actual market data covers only about 100 years - not much. Add to that the constantly changing nature of the world, and you have a major problem predicting what will happen, and when it will happen.

    It is fun, and possibly profitable to call trends in advance, but more of us will do better if we don't.

  • Index Investing: One Size Doesn't Fit All [View article]
    There are so many variables, that it is impossible to name the best investment vehicle of the future, which starts now. The best move is to buy into an index at regular intervals from the age of 7 or 8, and never stop, only increase your contributions. It is of course easy to look backwards and say "this is what I should have done". Since we are all differant, invest so that you can sleep at night - and just do it.
