He's responding to the assumption one of gold/silver is more affordable. In dollar terms, not ounces, he's right. The whole industrial application thing is a good and bad thing. Great when production is high but when sales fall you'll see silver drop, not gold.

The author makes a great point on perception of Brazil vs. the US of A. We look at Brazil as a socialist state where people are poor and suffering yet the US is has very similar policies (run the financial & auto sectors) and poverty continues to rise.
Looking 10-15 years out I'd rather choose the socialist regimes who have "stuff" than those who simply consume but have similar policies.

First of all, it's a big if as to whether companies will stop paying for Blackberry's. The goal of any corporation is to grow. To do this requires increased efficiency which is what Blackberry offers. If companies don't buy them they're only putting themselves at a disadvantage.
I'm an iPhone user and I can tell you first hand it's NOT an enterprise phone. Great device but average phone quality, very poor battery life and no EE (sorry MobileMe is crap). I love my phone but it's a personal device and has no association with work.

It's sad to me how often I hear that Potash (or ag stocks in general) will pick up because "people have to eat". It's like investing in funeral homes because "everybody dies".
Can you please develop an argument that shows you better understand the sector?
Dropped calls isn't just carrier related. I had the e71 for 1 year. 0 dropped called. iPhone 3GS for 1 week - 3 dropped calls.
Now, I'm not saying that in and of itself is evidence but it was the same carrier in the same city.
iPhone is great but there's a reason business folk go Blackberry and it isn't the crappy U2 commercials.
