The iPod/iTunes was released in 2001. Since then Microsoft has gone through no less than 7 iterations of it's strategy to kill the iPod and all of them failed. But somehow I'm supposed to believe this time it's for real? Come on!

What's ironic about his statement is that under Linux, the operating system is all too visible with it's lack of hardware support and having to hand configure every nook and cranny of the environment. Geeks can't fathom why people don't want to do all of this just to have a useful desktop.

Chuckle, chuckle. Snortle, snortle. Sure they'll own the living room... All this is is WebTV3. AppleTV is going to blow it away because it's a simpler design. That's how Apple always gets the edge when it comes to consumer based products. Microsoft tries to out geek everyone else. The problem is.... it's not cool to be a geek! I'm a geek telling you this. Besides, if it's not Apple, it'll be Sony dominating the living room before anyone else has a chance.
