IBM has not been in a decline, nor are they hiding.

Where is IBM? Actually, they switched gears as well. Just because they aren't in the public spotlight doesn't mean they're not successful. They're a better business than they once were with more sustainable customers.

It's an iPad with a keyboard. "Typical" computing demand? Precisely, barebones work for $1000+.

An MBA is a keyboard and a screen. Junk performance for $1000. Good anti-virus software can be found for free. Who uses Geek Squad anyway?

Your biggest mistake was buying a Dell.

I'm sure after 4 years your Mac is growing long in the tooth performance-wise, so who cares if it's still running. For the same price, you can get a PC that'll still be fun to use 10 years down the road (I built a beast of a PC with "Mac money" that lasted me 12 years before I got bored).

  • Apple Could Destroy Xbox One With An iTV [View article]
Totally agree with you Jake. Non-gamers are posting misinformative comments about gaming consoles and are oblivious to gaming needs.

Tons of speculation and overreaction surrounding the Xbox One. The features presented most recently by MSFT were to lure sales from the non-gaming clientele. Just like Apple, Xbox has a loyal fanbase that won't jump ship so easily (there are also more numerous than Sony's followers). Sony and Apple have a ton of work to do if they want to challenge this space.

Solid article. No need to mention small performance dips over miniscule time frames - takes away from the punch and purpose of what you've written.

  • Don't Buy The New Microsoft Xbox Tease [View article]
Even if we were to assume that your arguments are incorrect, a successful 720 launch would do little to affect stock price.

Good article. I agree that these consoles will be flops.

  • Movie theater stocks have fallen since last week's deadly shooting: Cinemark (CNK), owner of the theater where the shooting took place, has slid 6.2% since Friday, and RGC, CKEC and IMAX also have drifted lower. Investors fear the tragedy will lead to higher security costs at theaters, even metal detectors, or worse... movie goers could simply stay home.  [View news story]
Or take guns away? A much simpler solution. Just look at statistics for gun crime in the UK.

  • Apple (AAPL) is reportedly planning to roll out a smaller, cheaper iPad by the end of the year, with a screen that's 7-8 inches diagonally vs. the current 9.7 inch version. Apparently Apple's at least a little bit worried about the Nexus 7 (GOOG) and Surface (MSFT).  [View news story]
Finally, an objective statement. Thanks Luke!
