  • The Time To Hedge Is Now! Do It For Less - Part IV [View article]
There is absolutely no guarantee that volume will pick up, in fact it tends to drop in a panic. The ATM options are trading just a handful of contracts a day, so there is no reason to think your OTM options will get sufficient volume when they go ATM.

Besides UAL, good luck getting out of those other option positions if the market does tumble. They are so thinly traded (3-4 contracts a day in most cases), you will have a very tough time finding a buyer when you want to close your position. Why not trade more liquid products?

The current Supreme Court is one of the most radical in US History. The sooner Scalia or one of the other right wing fascists steps down and is replaced with a more moderate candidate the better off we will all be. Currently the court's right wing segment is a wholly owned subsidiary of the highest corporate bidder. God forbid we get another GOP President, it would likely be the end of the American Empire.

"Let us not forget that when Bush cut taxes in 2001 tax revenue actually increased."

Revenues have increased every year except a handful for the past 50 years, it had nothing to do with tax cuts. It's called a growing economy, which also has nothing to do with tax cuts. The Bush tax cuts are the single greatest contributor to our deficit problems. We would have cut the national debt in half if we had not passed those idiotic tax cuts. Republicans are about as fiscally irresponsible as you can get. Clinton surplus to Bush trillion dollar deficits.

    Buckoux,
Solar efficiencies have doubled since 2011. That is reality. I know as a right winger it was only a few years ago you thought solar power only existed in the movies. I won't expect much from a discussion out of you. Name calling is about as good as you can do.

"Are they really trying to protect some desert turtle, or just move a guy over so some Chinese firm can build some solar panels on the land he was using?"

You must be another Fox News consumer. The proposed solar field you are talking about is 20 miles away from the Bundy ranch...

    This seems relevent.

    Study: NPR’s listeners best-informed, Fox viewers least-informed

"Why is FOX the only ones covering the Bundy Ranch?"

This says it all. Maybe because Bundy is a criminal free loader and not the hero you want to make him out to be. Why is it you right wingers are willing to go to bat to protect some wealthy rural rancher as he mooches off the taxpayers, but when it comes to inner city kids on foods stamps you could care less.

Keystone is a boondoggle at this point, the only big money involved in keystone is from the oil companies bribing Republicans to ram the thing through without concern for property rights or the drinking water of those who will be at risk. Maybe that's why no insurance company will issue a policy on the keystone in the case of a spill...We will be energy independent with or without keystone, it's thanks to Obama diversifying out of fossil fuels, and the realization that exponential gains to solar efficiencies will be realized just as we saw in computing power.

  • Keystone pipeline decision delayed again, likely until after November elections [View news story]
Hubert, do you have any statistics to back that up? Of course not. Just more hot air and talking points. We are now on 6 straight years of private sector job growth, more jobs created than under Bush, 9 million more Americans with health care, on our way to energy independence without tar sands, stock market at record highs, deficit cut in half (as promised). Those are all verifiable facts, unlike your BS oil spill claim. Don't blame your shortcomings on the President, take responsibility.

Do you have any statistics to back that up? Your opinion is useless. Job growth is slow because Republicans were too friendly to the big banks and it ended in the Great Recession.

40% of CEO's are either bailed out, fired for incompetence, or busted on criminal charges. They are highly replaceable, and it is workers who create wealth, not CEO's.

Actually 2 Republican Senators voted for Obamacare...As for being invited to the table, why should they have been? They lost the election. They decimated the economy, did nothing to reduce health care costs in the in 6 years they had complete control of the government. They were not fit to have a seat at the table.

The only reason their wages don't keep up with inflation is because right wingers suppress minimum wage increases, outsource US jobs, and engage in union busting. Don't blame poor people for the actions of greedy right wingers.

Nothing has been worse for the middle class than the Bush Recession. Unemployment has only fallen since Obamacare was enacted.
