  • BlackBerry Today Is A Voting Machine But It Will Inevitably Become A Weighing Machine [View article]
Totally agree George. I was holding GRPN bought @ 4ish - it was just not moving (behaving very much like $BBRY). As soon as I sold it, the stock took off. Can't believe my luck!

  • BlackBerry: Game Over? [View article]
Soooo right Ashraf!!! I sold 1K shares today before 2pm (thank god I made a profit) so I can day trade this one. Let's see if I can get some of my money back if I day trade it using BB and MACD. It was a horrible day for us longs. Someone wrote to me saying they lost $83K - that's a huge amount - I just hope the dust settles soon so we can day trade.

But I have learnt a lesson. Never ever hold thru earnings. People told me not to but I didn't listen. You know what they say - you got to learn from your own bad experiences. Well, lesson learnt!

I think that the Thor needs more time. He has only just taken over the reigns and we must give him time to sail this boat to shore for us. In the meantime, day trade the stock. I hear a lot of horror stories about his reign @ Siemens but he had done well @ $BBRY so far and I am willing to give him a chance.

My sympathies to all of you who lost even $100 today. We had high hopes. We were wrong to hope. I am still holding on to 6K shares. Let's see how we end the year.

This is a great letter @MPF94025. If you are in Ontario then you should go to the shareholders meeting - check their site/investor's page. Othewise just post this on Crackberry - trust me, Kevin will forward it.

Blackberry already fired their marketing or advertising team last month or 8 weeks ago - it should be somewhere on the net coz when I read it, it made sense that the guy who helped launch the Z10 in Britain and then the guy in India - they all seem to have left together. Some say it was choice - maybe it was, but many of us had wondered if they did not deliver the sales and bbry decided to accept their resignation because they most likely realized they need to change their mkt team. They also need to fire Alicia Keys for breach of contract and sending txt msgs from her iPhone and then blaming a friend for this. LIES!

I must admit that Superbowl commercial everyone was rah rah about - I was like "huh"? What are they trying to say. It was pathetic considering the same guys who produced this commercial have come up with some of the most brilliant commercials in recent history.

The iOS or Android crowd issue will be resolved if BBRY can install BB10 in all these phones for a fee. It doesn't matter what phone you use (that should be the pitch), just make your mobile experience smoother, faster, more efficient by powering it with BB10. People who are loyal love their phones - be it a QWERTY or Android or iPhone. So don't take the phone away from them, given them something to make their life more enjoyable using BB10.

Totally agree that Heins is no Jobs. But neither is Tim Cook and they are both (Thor and Tim) going thru a rough patch as new CEOs. In comparison, Thor has done a much better job of turning BBRY around and we are on our way but for now, we have to endure these tragedies and hope that we don't go bankrupt in the process of waiting for BBRY team to hit a financial home run.

The other thing they need to do is buy back some shares. We need to know that the company is supporting its vision and a buyback is the best show and tell.

They also need to lobby so that only a certain amount of float is available for shorting. Almost 43% (Q and TSX) is OUTRAGEOUS.

Further, they need to keep in touch WEEKLY with their shareholders by releasing some type of a press release in the media so that everyone knows they are working hard at turning a profit.

Lastly, I think (yes, and I will beat the same drum over and over) they need to get Justin Bieber to use publicly the Z10 and do some youTube videos on his experience with the phone. Listen, I don't care if you hate Bieber - there are multi million fans of his who will blindly switch from iPhone or the most popular Samsung if Bieber is using a Z10. We all know it is a great phone, hand it to Bieber and let him play with it - let him decide if he wants to champion BBRY and sign him up. I can already see all those young Arab girls in Saudi Arabia flashing a Z10 with Bieber's photo as their home image!

Lots to do next week. It starts with firing Alicia and buying back some shares!

  • BlackBerry Short Sellers, I Salute You [View article]
Can someone please explain the logic as to why this is no longer a short play @ $10-ish? Someone else said that to me but being new, I didn't understand why.

GEORGE: Hindsight 20/20 my friend! You are not the only one who got it wrong. You have a heard of bulls, including myself who were positive that this Q had to be better than the last, largely due to the release of Q10. Don't lose sleep over it. I can only hope that you didn't lose a lot of $$.

I still believe in the company but will follow my intuition next time which kept telling me to sell everything. I told a friend to sell it but I didn't follow my own advise.

Lesson learned: Sell before earnings. If good news, pay extra $1 per share and re-enter but don't hold thru earnings.

We really need some positive catalyst to help us now otherwise those of us who are still holding will end up bankrupt for not cutting our losses today. I placed a pre-market order this morning to sell BBRY at $11.50 and then cancelled it. Don't ask me why coz I don't know.

Hugs to all those who lost big today. Kudos to those who shorted. The rest of you ... ain't you glad you stood and watched the ship sink from the shore?

  • This Time Zynga Is A Buy [View article]
Oh why didn't I listen to you then? Or had I already purchased the stock @ $3.64 before you wrote the article? (meh!) This stock has proven to me that technical analysis is as good as the person interpreting it. I can only hope now George, that the price exceeds my entry so I can get out with a profit after holding it all this time. Based on what you have written, I need to have my finger on the trigger so I can get out as soon as I can when it rally pre-earnings. Woot... that's like 2 days of rally!

    :)

  • BlackBerry Tanks: Now What? [View article]
Scott trader I disagree. Releasing Z10 first was the right decision because retention is only pampered when subscribers are eager to jump ship. Those who wanted to jump ship, did so pre-Z10 release. Everyone else is eagerly (albeit impatiently) awaiting the Q10.

Releasing Z10 first allowed BBRY to poach subscribers of Android and other such devices. Plus, it allowed everyone to see that iPhone "used to be" while Z10 "is hot and happening now"!

  • Telefonica (TEF) obtains a $257M credit line from Canada's export agency to purchase BlackBerry (BBRY) phones and services. The deal comes shortly after the debt-laden carrier obtained a $1B credit line from Sweden's export agency to buy mobile infrastructure gear from Ericsson. [View news story]
@slcUTAH - one can really get ulcers or heart attack watching that channel. These people don't give a shit about anybody and dish out advice that they themselves would not carry out. It really appalling how they are allowed to get away robbing people's sanity by making calls that more often than not make people lose money.

That Jon Steward bashing of Cramer should be watched by everyone. Really told him off!

As for their interview with Thor - well, they need to watch Bloomberg's interview that aired the same day. Night and day!!!
