Mr Hug is currently Director of Corporate Development of Singletouch Systems, Inc. a Mobile Media Solutions Provider. He is responsible for leading and supporting the corporate and business development activities across the organization. Prior to Singletouch, he was Co-Founder and Chairman of WaveYard Development , an innovative water-sports and recreation development company. He was lead negotiator with the City of Mesa in helping craft a joint development agreement paving the way for Arizonas first year-round Sports and Entertainment District ,which along with WaveYard will include the new Chicago Cubs Spring Training Stadium and themed retail district dubbed "Wrigleyville West". Prior to founding WaveYard, Mr. Hug was the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Wireless Retail Inc., a $400 million dollar wireless services company which helped pioneer the store-in-store model for selling mobile phones for wireless carriers in large national retailers. In 2004, Wireless Retail was named as one of Forbes 50 Fastest Growing Companies in the United States as it amassed over 2,400 locations in retailers such as Sam's Club, BJ's Wholesale Club, Circuit City, Best Buy and Staples. Mr. Hugs responsibilities consisted of all facets of corporate strategy which included the management oversight and organic growth strategy of its retail "host" partners along with contract negotiation with all wireless carrier partners including Cingular, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Nextel and Alltel. Additionally, he was responsible for the overall execution of the "tuck-in" M &A strategy as directed by the CEO. This included target identification, negotiation of material deal terms , managing the deal team , transaction closing and integration into parent. Given his diverse skill set, Mr. Hug was selected as interim CFO prior to the companies eventual sale to the RadioShack Corporation. Prior to Wireless Retail, Mr. Hug was Managing Partner of Redwood Partners, an early-stage merchant bank and advisory firm that focused on providing early-stage capital and executive management to technology, media and telecom businesses. While at Redwood, he sourced and facilitated a cross-border $10 Million Dollar strategic investment by InVentures , a UK based venture fund which has successfully grown into Redwood Capital Group today. Prior to Redwood Partners, Mr. Hug was an Executive Director in the Corporate and Executive Services Group (CES) at CIBC World Markets. Mr. Hug began his career and spent 8 years in the Private Client Group at Merrill Lynch. Mr. Hug attended The Pennsylvania State University where he studied finance on a full athletic scholarship, and was a member of the 1986 National Championship football team under legendary coach Joe Paterno. Today he resides in Montville, NJ with his wife Kim of 14 years and his children Alexandra and Gerard.
