High Risk Trading With Armour Residential [View article]
Price to cash flow ratio is only 4.7x. It pays 13%. It has a $ 2 annual price fluctuation. This is an income stock. I would think if you wanted to trade or short a stock, there's a lot better choices out there than this. JMHO.
As I have done in the past, I will remind everyone that most people who don't particularly care any more for the investment they have made, simply just sell it and move on to another investment they feel offers a good opportunity. Most all investors are watching out for themselves, and don't make it their purpose in life to help or warn others in order to "save" them from the perils of the market. That is, unless they have something to gain from it. That said, anytime I read a long, elaborate disclosure with graphs and such to build a case against the merits of a particular company, I become very skeptical as to the real purpose of such disclosure. Anyone who has followed ZAGG for any length of time knows that they have come up with repeated positive earnings quarter after quarter using a business model that works for them. What we also know is that the stock float is small, and there is a doggedly stubborn short position on the stock, holding it down by the ankles, if you will, creating a stalemate on any movement in the share price. It is my humble opinion that this is why we see the many published articles subjecting us with so many negatives about the company in an attempt to "shake up" the log jam. It is a shame that shorting a stock has gone from being a hedging technique, to becoming a form of a hostile attack on companies for the greed of those who apparently have no talent for finding and discovering companies that have growth potential. It's a true pity for all those true investors out there. Talk about an area of the industry that needs closer scrutiny. (shorts, show us proof that you actually borrowed the stock you have shorted!)
The oil services sector (OIH) may have turned the corner on the way to gains in 2013, Deutsche Bank says in raising price targets on several stocks. Baker Hughes (BHI) is the firm's top pick, with significant leverage to both the U.S. onshore and Gulf of Mexico recovery; Halliburton (HAL) is another preferred large-cap. Nabors (NBR) is the favorite mid-cap, and Hercules (HERO) the top small-cap play. [View news story]
Not all of them...NBR has been beaten down over the last year from the 22-23 area. Trades at 8.5x forward earnings.
"Rates go down you get killed, rates go up you get killed," says hedge fund manager Brad Golding, summing up the situation for mortgage REITs. The days of double-digit yields are over - at least at Annaly (NLY) - where new co-CEO Wellington Denahan-Norris calls it "fantasy" to think the company can just jack up leverage to replicate the returns of the past. Shares of Zagg (ZAGG +1.4%) bounce around as SA author Worthless Pennies speculates that the company could be the target of a SEC probe. Thought it's only anecdotal evidence at best, a response by the SEC to a Freedom of Information Act request mirrors that of a company under investigation. [View news story]
What a pitiful attempt. If anything, "Worthless Pennies" should be investigated ! ! !
