  • Recent Buy: AT&T [View article]
Always read your stuff, thanks for the article! I added T to my Roth yesterday. While "mjtroll1" comment above can be taken as somewhat of a bummer, people must understand that I and many others aren't buying T to match the S&P growth wise. Like reading your blog too Mantra!

  • Why I Like Exxon Mobil While Others Don't [View article]
Stephen I am asking myself these same questions. I recently added to KMI with some Roth contributions because I like Kinder's plan and love the "toll road" concept of the business. Now I'm trying to make up my mind with the remaining money whether I should pick up XOM or CVX or add to my COP position. COP earnings this morning weren't terrible but they did cut cap-ex again, they also stated preserving the dividend and balance sheet was of upmost important... I liked hearing that! I'm waiting to see what CVX says tomorrow and XOM early next week.

  • Philip Morris: The Hits Keep Coming [View article]
Hard to watch this company do nothing while MO lights it up daily! However, I'm still holding this company and may add to it because tobacco isn't going anywhere any time soon. For me, it's one of only a few names that seem like a buy with a decent margin of safety from a value standpoint

JNJ is a core position for me in my Roth (as a late 20 yo new investor). Started my position last year with the drop after some of the negative Hep C talk came out. I am planning to add T and either an oil major (XOM/CVX/COP) or V/MA with my Roth contributions this year! Figure they would be a good current dividend vs divy growth combination. Thanks for both of your articles, enjoyed them! Following you now also.

    Take it easy

  • Searching For Stability In A Volatile Oil Market [View article]
    BuyandHold2012:

I always enjoy reading your comments! You're always saying the same thing, and that's why I appreciate them. You have your investment plan and stick with it.

I do have a question for you though... You seem to have said for over a year now that you aren't or wouldn't buy stocks "right now because the S&P is at an all time high". I totally get what your saying so you don't have to try and convince me... but I am wondering what you do with your retirement contributions, taxable investment money, etc when you feel the market is to hight to invest in?

Have you just been sitting in straight cash with your new money over the past year?

HP popped up on my stock screen and my analysis using David Fish's CCC list... Great value here no doubt but IMO they will be hit very hard by low oil prices compared to others. I'm willing to wait and see what earnings and guidance look like before putting money down. Thanks for the read
