  • Gold And Silver: Are Shorts About To Panic? [View article]

What's better than buying gold miners (according to EW) ? Short DUST the next time it spikes. It should spike one last time when you see the bottom in GLD (or NUGT). We are talking about 50-100% returns here....

Shorting DUST the next time it spikes to ~ $50 is a sure win...

  • American Capital Agency: Time To Abandon Ship? [View article]

Would it be a good strategy to buy now ($27.72) and sell a 2015 Jan call for the $18 strike for a $9.5 premium ? This would offer a ~30% downside protection....

  • Apple: It's Time To Move On [View article]

100% agree with you on the options playground. I am trading weeklies (naked puts and covered call).

We have yet to see if options premiums will be as high as they were before the buyback program. I believe the buyback will decrease the volatility, and premiums.

  • Apple: It's Time To Move On [View article]

it's time for YOU to move on. We all get it: you're in love with INTC you have this disproportionate hate for AAPL. You start to sound like a broken record.

There are tons of analysts suggesting that AAPL's fair price is in the $500ish, assuming 0% growth, and declining margin. If all hell breaks loose,~ $500 appears to be the number. What's your thought on this ?

Note: While I enjoy reading your articles on INTC, I think those on AAPL are quite superficial. No hard feelings.

  • Apple: The iPad Faces Unprecedented Competition [View article]

I learned a lot from you and I also have a lot of respect for your knowledge. You opened my eyes for investing in companies such as INTC and QCOM.... But when it comes down to AAPL, I've got the feeling that all of your articles are highly biased. One of the main reason is that your articles on AAPL lack quantitative information, and mainly focus on the negative. Finally, market share discussions are completely useless and you are missing the point that tablets were never meant to be "productive tool" (I am typing this lying down on my couch, while watching a hockey game). I would uninstall Office from my tablet in a heartbeat and I don't want Windows on my tablet because that belongs to the 9 to 5 job.

More on market share, and the fact that Apple is eating everyone's lunch, regardless of market share. Refer to fair profit index

  • You Better Duck - Apple's Unit Profits Are Falling [View article]

Can this be a transitory effect due to the recent revamp of products (i.e., larger casing for iPhone 5, iPad mini) ? We can't expect Apple to maintain higher profit for these new products since they cost more to produce at first. And they can't charge more. On the longer term, costs of production drop faster than the asking price. So profit can only go up.

As a side note, the "lower margin" on iPad mini was reported to be
in the 40% to 55% range. I am still struggling to identify the profit laggard here...

  • Why Apple's P/E Multiple Is An Anomaly [View article]

2013 earning estimates are not lower than those of 2012. Yes, there is a slowdown, but the 2013 numbers are still higher. So the % growth is expected to slow down (until proven otherwise once we see the Qs results).

A lower price iPhone does not equal to lower margin since cost of production would also be lower. For example, look at the "cheaper" iPad mini (
