  • 4 Big Biopharma Deals We Might See In 2015 [View article]
    What goes on at GSK?
Out of oncology into vaccines! Struggling in respiratory meds.

This is a red giant that needs another red giant (PFE). Slash research. Halve rep numbers. Milk those good old money makers. Spin off the dregs and invest in startups.

It has to happen. GSK is dead in the water.

While it pays the divi I stay but looking for takeover.

  • Gilead Is A Cash Generation Monster [View article]
I sold PCYC at $125 and took a massive profit. It now trades at around $250.

Yet another lesson for me that selling GOOD stocks is bad.

Of course, I have sold and watched the stocks go down but if I had never sold anything I would have been substantially better off today!

  • Banco Santander: A Safe 12% Yield From Europe [View article]
I think they raised lots of cash from sophisticated US investors about 6 months ago.

I don't think these guys would have put up the dough without a v.v.convincing story.

Still no upward action which worries me.

    Anybody know what's really happening?

  • Some Pre-Earnings Release Observations About Gilead Sciences [View article]
In the overall scheme of things users of Sovaldi and the new biotechs now are paying for a future free of the scourge of dread diseases.

You couldn't find a better example of the value of capitalism. Massive reward drives science for the betterment of all mankind. In a few short years generics will supply wonder drug needs at moderate prices

You can't compare to Sovaldi since it has no competition - yet.

There are many cholesterol reducers that work more than adequately on the market - now.

  • Biogen: The Pioneer In The Hemophilia A Market [View article]
Your net profit margin of 24% is, I suspect a gross underestimate. All research costs have been written off, manufacturing costs mostly written off leaving only marketing costs - initially high-ish, then falling and allowing BIIB to fill their boots along with their partners SOBI

  • Pfizer Has It All Wrong, Should Look Into New Viable Acquisitions [View article]
The author misses the whole point. Celgene and Gilead are fully valued in their own right.

Both PFE and AZN are worthy but boring on their own.

AZN plus PFE provides opportunities to reduce marketing and research costs converting them directly into profit via amalgamation.

This is the right model for old pharma particularly when combined with early investment in startups and MORE particularly when this investment cash comes from reduction in their own research ops.

Even longer AZN now and might even buy some PFE

  • AstraZeneca shareholders upset at rejection of Pfizer offer [View news story]
AZN shareholders will never see the PFE offer value again. Woodford's judgement that Soroit has transformed its pipeline is pure speculation. Big pharma is dead and should be milked for its momentum. The future belongs to biotechs. Each driven by scientists who have zero problem raising cash to prove their ideas at the frontiers of medicine.

    MG does't work for biotech.

You would have missed out on PCYC, CELG, GILD etc

All serious companies not only making money but contributing to the healthcare of the world.

You may extend your lifespan by virtue of their research
