  • What Seeking Alpha Is Doing To Prevent Paid Stock Promotion [View article]
    Dear Eli:
I am very reassured by your statement and comments. SA (and any trusted site) can only survive by protecting its reputation and reliability. Once that goes, it's gone! I have been interested in MNKD, one of the poster children for manipulation, and think that by and large the information and opinion on SA has been honest, except for one blatant fraudster that comes to mind, identified as coming from the Philippines?. Are any of your "discredited" authors associated with that stock?

  • MannKind's Steady Progression Towards FDA Approval Continues Unabated [View article]
Very good and thorough article. The warrants you refer to were 53-week warrants issued in October 2012 and allowing holders of the warrants to exercise and buy 30 million shares at $2.60 per share, with $78 million proceeds going to MNKD.. These warrants expire and must be exercised in late October 2013. The exercise of the warrants and issuance into shares are undoubtedly triggering varying strategies linked to increased short selling activity as some holders of warrants are earning premium and locking in profits by selling calls against the stock to be purchased by them on warrant exercise at $2.60, in hedging activity, and market makers and buyers of the calls knowing they will be buying stock in October for whatever purposes, could be taking actions based on anticipation of future price action based on new supply, etc, part of a grand plan. On the other hand, other participants in MNKD are confusing this strategic hedging action with fundamentals by speculating that that something is wrong with Afrezza, it wont be approved, won't sell, etc. It is indeed and dynamic and why George Rho's article is worth reading.

  • 7 Important Developments [View article]
You are THE reliable source on foreign exchange. RE: Cyprus, I see a possibility that the Russian oligarachs, ie, Abramovich and others will take over the Cypriot banks as well as Cyprus' sovereignty to protect their own money. This will be the first non-military hostile takeover of an independent nation. They'll get to name "the Board." Sound farfetched? There is no other "solution."

  • 5 Reasons MannKind Could Be The Best Performing Stock Of 2013 [View article]
Joe, this is a marvelous compendium of the generally public but hidden data about MNKD and an excellent summary of the market potentials that could be present on approval of Afrezza. I congratulate you and thank you for your effort. I also believe that there is a potentially big number out and I agree with your conclusions about its potential. Have you any thoughts about the 31 million share short position reported by NASDAQ in mid-February, and its significant rise since January 1st? I know that there is a substantial piece of the short position that can be attributed to hedging the two issues of convertibles that are out, but I don't understand why overall it is growing. I do not understand why someone would risk so much (huge upside in stock) to make so little (short at $2). I guess that's what makes markets. Well done. I look forward to reading more. I will follow you.

FINRA disclosure: I am a registered securities professional and long the stock of MNKD.

  • I'm going to just say it: Mannkind is garbage [View instapost]
Why the tremendous anger about MNKD. Calling it garbage? Such certainty about an FDA panel? Why don't you own BIOD? Your profile says you're a research analyst with a small boutique? In your own living room.

An emotional rant without intellectual content or analysis.
