    LONG SBUX and MCD
I think you fellas fail to see the marketing and long term vision genius of MCD.
The very same thing is happening with soft drink companies and cereal companies.
    They will find a way.

  • Realty Income Is On Sale Again [View article]
    Charles,
Thank you for your perspective on O,which was my largest holding until last Friday.
As you know shares of Opfe were called at par $25.
I liquidated 1600 shares, and am in the process of re-balancing a few positions and dollar cost averaging back into common shares of O.
Meanwhile I will miss that juicy 6.75% monthly check.
I for one believe that when the fed begins to raise rates it will be a slow and gradual process.
I cant imagine any reason for the rates to rise quickly and or "violently" which would cause panic.
Correct me if Im wrong, but what motivations would cause a fast and violent rise in rates ?
    War ?
Our government knows this recovery is on eggshells, and anything except slow and gradual will cause huge problems.

    Your thoughts ?

  • Retirement Strategy: Receiving A Stream Of Income Every Month Is Budget-Friendly For Retirees [View article]
    R.S,
We own all on your list, and owned Opf-e up until yesterday.
Opfe was called at par this coming October.
We sold all shares yesterday for a $2400 capital gain, and will miss the 6.75% monthly income.
    We remain long on "O".

Why would it behoove the Fed to raise rates very quickly ?
I may be a dreamer, but I dont see them raising rates any faster than the economy can digest, and if they do,every investment will react negatively.

    O is my largest holding

  • The 4% Rule Examined [View article]
Again,,,not to sound like a expert, but I dont feel that DEBT is being discussed enough here.
I live in San Diego, one of the most expensive cities in the USA,without working.
A huge part of my secret <not so secret now>,is that Im debt free.
We own a 13 year old convertible with 180,000 miles and a 11 year old civic with 68,000 miles.
If you are debt free, your money goes a long, long way.
