  • The Positive Psychology Of Dividend Growth Investing [View article]

That is a investing trait,I am constantly working on.
PATIENCE has not been easy for me,but Im learning...

I now have a "thought process" I go thru before I make any new trades.

  • What Do I Do With My Stocks If The Market Crashes? Part 1 [View article]

    Another great offering.......
I look forward to part 2.
I own 8 of the 10 names listed above, and consider each of the 8 to be building blocks in my portfolio.
I saw the knife falling in 08,09 after a tremendous run in China mutual funds.
At that point, I decided to pull 197K out of the market and buy a long term 3% CD.
As my friends grumbled about further losses,I felt proud to have gotten out as the knife was falling....
I locked in most of my gains, and secured a 3% return until age 59 and 1/2
That CD will mature in July 2015....
At that time,I will be using David Fish's CCC list to rebuild a DGI portfolio <staying out of China>
Look forward to more of your education.

  • I Love My 'Magic Pants' And My Partners Wear Them Proudly [View article]

    Period,THE END.

Recently I had a friend tell me "I can lead you to water, but I cant make you drink"
He grew frustrated that I was not buying the stocks that he specifically knew <with the help of GOD> were going to make me rich.
Upon hearing his frustration <eventually he told me I was STUPID> I advised him that his stock picks "did not meet my financial business plan"
I could see how controlling and condescending this friend had become.
I ended the friendship, just short of telling him to go

I dont read every author on S/A
I read the contributors who fit "my financial business plan"

Dont let them get to you Chuck....
Stick to your game plan and let them stick to theirs...

  • Rich And Retired? Why Buying Dividend Growth Stocks Might Not Be Your Best Move [View article]
Great article, and like you,I often rush to give advice when I shouldn't.
A great estate law firm along with a great CPA will probably encourage him to open a tax free trust.
The next advice is probably the best and most often overlooked on Seeking Alpha.
Get Healthy, get screened, get in the gym...
I had a very dear friend unexpectedly inherit millions from a ogre hording father.
My very dear friend died of cancer before he could settle the estate <no will>.
We argue over it,we fight over it,some people die over it,money means very little without your health.

  • Worried About Exxon Mobil? Are You Kidding Me? [View article]
XOM remains a tier one holding for me.
That being said, I am also long COP,CVX,and sold my RDS/B after the terrible news they recently releases.
RDS/B stock price still hasnt collapsed,in spite of all the horrible news and warnings. <I was hoping it would>
For years I would play XOM on the bounce, buy in,wait for oil prices to rise, sell and rebuy/repeat.
Now, I simply hold XOM in my drip account as a long term, forever hold.
People question KO too,but until you can show me better options,KO,XOM,remain tier one holdings.
As you said RS,he is steering a enormous ship, and not everyone likes the route of his vessel.

  • Exxon Mobil Needs A Big Dividend Hike This Year [View article]
This has always been the case with XOM.
Because of their tremendous size, wealth, and power, they have never felt the need to match dividends.
I own COP,XOM,CVX, and in and out of RDS/B
Simply spread your risk, average your dividend, you will do fine.
Would I love to see XOM hike its dividend ?
