  • Don't Fret Over Outliving Your Money [View article]
I will only consider annuities as I reach a age when I can no longer handle my own investing.
Buying a annuity at age 65,that kicks in at age 85,is a horrible investment unless you are totally clueless about handling your own finances.

CVX accounts for 1% of my stock portion of IRA.

  • Procter & Gamble: Overvalued, 24% Downside Based On Free Cash Flow? [View article]
As with all of my direct invest/drip programs, I couldnt even tell you the cost of a PG share.
Yet,I know that Im ahead of my cost basis, and PG is a safe bet to keep sending me the DIVVY checks.

I cant get MCD OR WMT at a price I like.
I simply institute a drip buying plan, and no longer worry about cost per share.

I buy the companies I want with the "BIG PICTURE" in mind.

    Damn the torpedoes,
Bill the conservative and hated by liberals.

  • High Yield Vs. Dividend Growth [View article]
My goal is 4% current dividend income, and 4% portfolio growth.
    To achieve that,I blend reits,blue chips,MLPs,funds,and 2 BDC's.
I have to admit,I have been scaling back on the MLP's and leaning on my blue chips as of late.
The 4% dividend income is much easier to achieve than the 4% portfolio growth.
    I avoid Mreits
