Intuit Screws Up, And H&R Block Will Profit [View article]
Most people using software in the past would breeze through the federal only to have problems with state. In this regard, Tax Cut is superior in that anyone having state return problems can go to their nearest H&R Block office and have the state returns processed correctly. Don't think you can do that with Turbo Tax; Has anyone ever seen a brick and mortar Intuit/Turbo Tax Office anywhere? Hence H&R Block's slogan "You Got People!"
And BTW, if you decide you want to have a "live" person prepare your taxes from H&R Block next tax season instead of doing it yourself, the previous year's TaxCut return is downloadable (thus saving lots of preparation time).
PLUS H&R Block stands behind every return through their standard guarantee -- that is, they will pay additional interest and penalties assessed by the IRS if the mistake was caused by HRB. Who else does that? -- not Turbo Tax or any other Retail accounting firm that I know of.

This is incorrect. HRB's Tax Cut was developed inhouse and not by the same outsourcing company.
