Nice. I reformatted my CX61 back to 7. Windows 8 on that machine was a nightmare. I hate trackpads period. I love Logitech and have owned just about every single tier of their mice. I recently purchased a Razor mouse however, Naga series. It's not wireless however but the cord is braided and is absolutely phenomenal. I use it now when I go to coffee shops instead of the wireless portable mouse I have.

Nice. Glad it worked out for you. I do the same on my laptop. Don't freeze or crash. Never had one of my computers crash actually. Macs do make good products though, no doubt about that. I just can't justify paying a double premium for something that "just works" when what I've used all my life costs half as much and "just works".

I don't have that problem. Well, phone yes, computer no. The problem with PCs is that they are pre-loaded with all this crap, and no anti-virus software. They are literally manufactured by OEMs to FAIL (look at HPQ and DELL). That's why they are so cheap. I reformatted my laptop from Win8 first thing and it's a dream. Oh yeah! I also added some RAM ('memory' for you Mac users). Can Mac laptops be upgraded like that? (without giving it to a "genius")

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Jony Ive is the best thing to happen to a corporation since money.

Disclaimer: AAPL is a great company with great products.

Macs are great for people who like to go to suggestive websites, and download more than their fair share of said suggestive material without filling their machine up with AIDS.
I have been a PC user now for ... all-my-life years. We used Macs in the art department at MU and they are great too.... well, for artsie things and not getting AIDs.
I paid 700$ for my MSi CX61. It runs Skyrim on Ultra and Unity3d combined with AutoDesk 3DS Max like an AIDs-free marathon swimmer. I have never given my computers AIDS. I also build PCs for a hobby though. So maybe that has something to do with it?

Windows definitely has its flaws and there is definitely a great-divide between PC users and Mac users. With that being said, since I don't macrame or build bird houses out of nifty house-hold clutter, I know how to treat my PC and it runs [swims] like aforementioned AIDS-free marathon swimmer.

  • Apple: How To Admit You're Out Of Ideas [View article]
Must be nice. On my birthday I got a home-cooked meal and some new clothes. If only I wasn't the minority in this world of many rich people.

From my understanding/readings of the stock market and it's behavior, stocks never moved based solely on fundamentals. Thinking back to 'Reminiscences of a Stock Operator' stocks were driven by popularity once a good fundamental basis of investing was found, (or some profound speculation, like an earthquake in San Francisco if I remember correctly, driving a railroad stock down if only weeks after the catastrophe). Even then some stocks were dogs or p&d's as is the case today.

Investing [long-term], in general, is based on fundamentals!
    That's my view anyways.
As far as NFLX and AMZN go the market is pricing in potential. With NFLX's great earnings beats 2x in a row, what do you expect. The Market is crazy! I'm not even gonna comment on AMZN.

You have to admit or at least acknowledge that people/investors love NFLX and AMZN, I know I do. I am apathetic towards AAPL.

  • Investors Should Keep Apple In Their Portfolios [View article]
If you are holding long term which I assume most AAPL investors are, then further out the money longer time-frame calls might be appropriate...unless you bought at 700. It can also be done using the weeklies if you can time your entry right. But you're absolutely right. Not for the technically faint of heart. Short calls can seriously diminish your returns on an up-trending stock ;)

lol. The headline in that article is comically appropriate for finding ISRG's claim regarding salaries false.
"No, Apple's senior VPs are not the S&P 500's best-paid execs"

I didn't even bother reading the article, the title was enough.

Let's all ask ourselves one question. Where would Apple's stock be if MSFT and GOOG never joined the mobile market. Probably at that fabled $1000 price target or higher. But they have joined it and AAPL isn't a $1000 stock. I think Michael Blair's comment has some validity Tom Wolf. However, I'm not saying yours doesn't either.

He probably gets alerts on them in his inbox. I do...and I agree with him. I hate to just delete them in case there's new info but there rarely is. Lately the SA headliners seem to provide better info on AAPL than Contributers' Articles.

If their holiday earnings were a disappointment then I can't imagine the next ones are going to surprise. Might want to hedge your AAPL positions.

Sell Calls. Learn a little tech analysis (Steve Nison books) and Sell calls at tops every week. Been doing it on BBRY with large success. Reduced cost basis this month alone by almost 5%.
