Airlines that are in financial trouble all do the same thing-discount tickets, generate day to day capital and tell their creditors we will pay you when we can. Along with discounting tickets the next play is to sell off aircraft parts to generate capital which you can spin into revenue. UAL did not sell off their aircraft parts they put up $500 million in parts for a loan of $175 million at outrageous interest rates. Most Airlines got burned on fuel hedges last year and have limited their exposure because of it. What is the price of oil again?

In order to hold a certificate to operate an airline there is a clause that the company must show it is financialy capable of doing so. When the airline goes bankrupt they just invent a new name and the govenment stamps the certificate.

Boeing decided to out source a lot of the B787. Yet another corporation involved in union busting and moving jobs over seas.. They forgot where they came from and moved their headquarters from Seattle to Chicago probably to get away from the scene of the crime. The components they are getting back are garbage and need to be fixed. This aircraft would be flying right now if it had been made in America. Too bad we aren't in Japan where company leadership still has the honor to resign.
