  • Banks, Credit Card Companies Could Ensure Apple Pay Becomes A Dominant Platform [View article]
I'm surprised you didn't emphasize the transaction fees. This from Apple Insider-

"...banks are offering Apple transaction fees lower than what is normally charged for credit card processing. These rates are not only lower than so-called "card not present" fees assigned to touch-less systems, but also traditional "card present" fees."

"In addition, The Times says credit card networks will not assume any additional cost in partnering with Apple, though analysts speculate Apple Pay may drive down interest rates. A large portion of credit card network fees go toward preventing fraud, but those expenses may drop once Apple Pay and Touch ID roll out, the report says."

  • iWatch? iTV? Apple's Innovation Death A Media Construct [View article]
Maybe they should look to Dick Tracy for some inspiration. I'm pretty sure his watch was wireless and voice activated.

  • Could Apple Be Working On The 'iBank'? [View article]
Exactly Mr Fripp. They weren't in the music business either. So I have no problem with the Warren Buffett strategy of holding Apple shares "preferably forever".

  • Why Apple's Fundamentals Are Not Deteriorating [View article]
What many love is how well their components and software run. Safari, although probably not the fastest browser, is rock solid and not plagued with security issues. My G4 now has Parallels software so I can run Windows whenever I need to. We've been Apple owners for almost 20 years. We still use our G3 laptop occasionally and it's over 10 years old. Once you convert it's hard to go back.

I also own MSFT, INTC, and CSCO because each has its own strengths.

  • Thanks Apple For Killing My Portfolio [View article]
Your honesty is very refreshing. I sold Apple long ago at a small (29%) gain. So sure, I missed the ensuing rocket ride, but they inevitably come crashing back down. Boring is beautiful. Especially for the long haul.

  • Why Picking A Stock To Hold Forever Is Total Folly: The Apple/Cisco Case [View article]
The only thing I will hold forever is gold. Although many have tried, unfortunately I can't take it with me.

  • Apple's Next Big Idea: TVs, From Design To Distribution [View article]
I've hesitated to comment on Apple because I like it so much. It's probably the best, most innovative brand of my lifetime. Lately, I've noticed how the amount of commercials on tv has escalated. It seems like at least 10 minutes for every 1/2 hour of content. I equate this to greed - the studios, networks, and distributors are all pushing the envelope as far as they can. If Apple can offer a product that can get rid of 90% of the ads and still offer valuable content, such as Sirius/XM is doing, it may be a home-run. But I'm with Moon, that's a very big IF.

If it's a value stock then show me the money! Until they do it's a growth story.

  • Apple Needs to Loosen Its Purse Strings: Here's What It Can Buy [View article]
Interesting article. Apple is an awesome company. Regarding Graham, I think the book value of the stock is somewhere around $75. Not only should they do all of the above, I would suggest they buy hard assets - gold and/or gold miners. Otherwise, they can watch all those dollars depreciate in value in the months and years ahead.

  • When It Comes to Content Delivery, Apple 'Gets It' [View article]
I love Apple. Just bought a new iMac. Very strong product line. Very bright people. Low p/e. Plenty of cash in the bank. Give me a dividend and then I'm a buyer.

  • Turning Apple Into an Income Stock [View article]
I love AAPL and have held the stock for years. I also own many of their products. The only thing that prevents me from purchasing more AAPL stock is the lack of a dividend.

  • When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get an Apple [View article]
I think another reason Macs are becoming popular - by hooking so many of the next generation on itunes & the iphone, they have developed brand loyalty. Once you realize how easy and dependable they are to use, why take a chance on something else?

Good, well written article. It's hard to imagine Apple without jobs, but at some point inevitable. I'm not selling.
