  • Cash for Clunkers May Cost Up to $45,354 Per Vehicle [View article]
If an attorney is involved it may well be costing $45,354 or a lot more. Uh what did Obama do before becoming Commander & Chief?

Until lobbist get out of Washington allowing the elected to represent their voters there will be no meaningful change. Unions have driven this country down for the last 40 years. They are one of several problems that are killing this country.

Strange how a greased palm can't grasp right and wrong.

I suspect the USA your grandchildren will know will not resemble the good ole USA you knew. I believe the situation will be so bad that the debt will be a minor problem.

Good thing about being old, I will not have to see but so much degradation.

Until unemployment is reduced to acceptable levels there can be no real recovery in housing. Obama has stabilized banking now he needs to get everyone back to work.

When and if that happens 90% of all real problems will be cured.

  • Remember $20 Oil? Looks Like It's Coming Back  [View article]
At some point the US needs to commit to the fact that at whatever price we have a gun to our head held by less than pro-american people. Oil no doubt is minipulated by various factions to create profitable scenerios.

Our government needs to cause the price of oil to be high enough to make alternative energy profitable to develop. Done correctly we could break the strangle hold oil now holds on the US.

I do question the sincerity of the government to break this choke hold. I suspect the best lobbiest will win.

Certain groups such as banking, insurance, etc. are necessary to allow an economy to function.

With all this inplace until the general population is secure and employed, making money to allow them to spend comfortably, the economy is not going anywhere. The fat cats get fed, but the economy is not going anywhere.

  • Undermining Home Ownership Imperative [View article]
Our government has favored "Big $" over the guy that goes to work every day, buys a home, raises a family, and spends the $ that allow "Big $" to exist.

Sometime it's hard to be proud to be an American. That is until I look at the sacrafices our military makes. Of course these "True Americans" have hell to deal with when they return.

May God have mercy on us all.

Well if the US government could get this money they are no doubt owed they could use it to fund bonus for the banking and GM execs. Lets invade Switzerland. I have heard they are hiding a weapon of mass destruction. Or was that North Carolina? Who cares invade them!!

  • A bankruptcy judge denies motions by groups with asbestos and injury-related claims to halt GM's asset sale and fast-track their appeal. "We simply don't have the luxury of letting GM languish in bankruptcy while an appellate court considers the issues the Tort Litigants and Asbestos Litigants want to raise," Judge Robert Gerber wrote.  [View news story]
I agree with all the above posts except I am not sure why the constitution is brought into it. We have not had a working constituition in 150 years. Just a bunch of ex-lawyers trying to represent what the founding fathers meant.

Basically we are run by lawyers, unions, government, and big business. What do you expect?

Mattup hits the nail on the head. The idea behind alternate fuels is to lessen dependence on foreign oil and help cleanup the enviroment.

On the other hand it has no real benefit to unions or big banks with the oil and natural gas prices low.

Anyone know where I can get a TARP without having a Lobbyist?
