Should Netflix Dump Its DVD Business? [View article]
DVD is dead? Maybe in your neck of the woods. And every IP around here has a cap so we are limited to how much data we can burn. I like my dvd/BR option.
An underperforming stock? Maybe because of an underperforming platform? Not many apps for Win8, and Nokia putting out lower end phones instead of pushing the 920? Just seems they are going in the wrong direction to me.
Microsoft is holding Nokia back. I like Nokia, and I want to like Windows 8 but after the novelty wore off I lost interest. Where are the developers/apps etc.? If some companies can run several OS on their phones for different markets, why can't Nokia? Bad management?
Nokia: After 144% Gain, Is It Time To Bail? [View article]
Don't forget the 920 has yet to hit Verizon. I hear rumor Nokia has a tablet they are working on? They will need something to come along to top the 920. They have spaced out their products nicely to keep people on their toes. We shall see...
Nokia Is Ready To Break Out: Use This High-Reward, Low-Risk Strategy To Get In [View article]
a pen maybe a 10 year old technique but the S-Pen integrated with the software on the Note 2 is far superior! Nokia does not have this! But go ahead and pump them anyways.

Nokia will do fair. Their launches are spread out pretty nice. 5 months Verizon will cut loose on the 920 also. I don't think they will "break out" until they "break in" to the Android field! Another trend that would really kick butt is a phone similar to the Galaxy Note 2. The S pen is changing the way smartphone/phablet is being used. If Nokia took this idea and improved on it, they would have a killer! Until then I think they will do just enough to hold on.
More on Microsoft's (MSFT) Windows Phone 8 event: Jessica Alba was brought out to promote WP8's features, which include a Kid's Corner and a revamped People Hub for integrating contacts and social networking content. Then came a less popular celebrity, Steve Ballmer, to discuss Q4's hardware lineup. He disclosed Verizon (VZ), which reportedly won't get to offer Nokia's Lumia 920 for at least 6 months, will have an exclusive on Samsung's high-end Ativ S/Odyssey phone. Sigh! Altho I'm rooting for Nokia, I am not waiting 6 months for the 920 model to come to Verizon. They need to pull out all stops right now because google and apple are bringing out nice stuff! So I will go with the Note2 to hold me over for another year or so. I would have tried the 920 but someone is a complete failure at marketing!
Microsoft Needs Heavy Marketing For Windows 8 Devices [View article]
No. Microsoft needs to put all of their efforts into making sure they get the OS right the first time! Then worry about the marketing. There are several sites poeple have bookmarked and I assure you they are waiting on these experts to give a hands on demo. And the masses will give free marketing with their pocketbooks and social media!
Microsoft (MSFT -2.3%) heads south as a harsh Barron's column is followed up by a flurry of media articles related to Windows 8, some of them critical. The NY Times becomes the latest to observe many early Windows 8 users have become confused by its radical, tile-based UI. Reuters, meanwhile, joins others in noting early corporate interest in Windows 8 is limited. Gartner predicts Windows 8's PC penetration within large organizations will only reach 20% at its peak. A shift towards subscription-based licensing could buffer Microsoft a bit. [View news story]
I can see this "tile-based UI" on a phone, and possibly a tablet. The desktop version I personally can't see it. And no windows media player/center?
