The first step is do something about the UAW. They have blackmailed the American Big Three into an uncompetitive benefit environment. There is no way that they can compete with the stupid work rules and benefit scales that are now in place. It doesn't matter that the companies agreed to these benefits. The world trade situation is such that they cannot compete with the current agreement. As long as the American Labor Movement continues to be the antagonist of corporate American, those unionized industries are going to fail. There has to be a partnership that works. Labor unions have cut their own throats and need to stop the bleeding. There are no other solutions except for the companies to fail.
