We can not continue to fund other countries payrolls/retirements or be the world policeman at our taxpayers expense. The shoe has to drop sometime and perhaps now is the time. However I fear our government will intercede and "help" the situation so Russia and their navy does not get a foothold in the Aegean sea. Personally I don't think Russia can take care of themselves let alone Greece but their mutual friendliness will make us do something costly and we, you and I can not afford it.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Throw China A Life Preserver [View article]
Heavy pressure on S&P will push it well bellow the 50 day moving average, especially in last hour of trading. Perhaps even down to 2090 or the 100 day MA. Greece is at forefront of bad news but world markets are all melting down. This maybe the end of our bull market till this fall.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Stocks Soar On Greek Hopes [View article]
Tentative agreement, kick the can down the road, will be reached and markets will be flush with exuberant optimism. Greece will not change and will need more bailout before the year is out. Look for high in stocks this week and then a downward slide as we go through summer.

Not much different in the U.S. Have you read articles about CEO pay vs the hourly worker? The disparity is growing in the U.S. and apparently in Africa as well. It takes money (power) to make money. Sad commentary for most people in the world that are trying to survive!

Vote with your wallets. I am selling my BA stock. It has gone up enough so I am out. I do not agree with what they are doing but I guess their customers (the airlines) like it. Still I will not support the big squeeze with my money. Out BA and airline stocks

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Here Comes The GDP Revision [View article]
Boat marina barometer? How appropriate and probably correct. The middle class is hurting and they do drive 75% of economy. On the positive side this puts rate hikes into 2016. With Greece defaulting on June 5th the whole ball of wax could be melting down for a while.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: ECB Pledges To Boost Bond Buying [View article]
Exuberant overoptimism in the stock market before the correction on June 5. Greece will most likely default on that date or kick the can to July where there is no solution. UK is thinking of exiting the EU and the house of cards will collapse soon. Ride the trend higher for the next few weeks but be cautious as we approach June 5th.

Who in our government negotiated these non prosecution agreements and why? Is this the too big to fail scenario? I am already peeved that ALL the big banks are just paying a fraction in fines for STEALING millions. If no one will be prosecuted what is their incentive to stop stealing? Someone needs to go to jail.

  • Alcoa: As Shares Bounce Along 52-Week Low, Insiders Buy [View article]
Yes the world is using more aluminum in automotive and aerospace. However AA is the night cost producer and has some very good low cost competition. Some proprietary AA aerospace alloy patents are expiring and not much new in the pipeline. I would wait for a while and see how it shakes out before jumping in. We need to see HEAVY insider buying, weaker dollar and improved world/China economy before I jump in.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Shell Agrees To Buy BG Group For $69.6B [View article]
Aluminum price now under $0.80 / lb will be bad for AA. This is a drop from $0.90 at end of 2014. Even if they report good earnings, doubtful, the outlook will be bleak at the sub $0.80 level. One saving grace is that aircraft manufacturers have lots of orders and are building new planes due to low oil. AA AEP business is supplying that Aluminum but unlikely that it can overcome loss of profit on the primary side. Better play is to buy BA.
