The Spiral Trader With the Spiral Trader I make an effort to draw attention to a speculative positioning method that is based on various studies and trials of long term price dispersion and the factors that influence it. Drawing on the technical ideas of Gann and Wilder I organize my thoughts using the Fibonacci sequence (I’ve also been known to use color) and neatly pack it into a spiral format that may be familiar to many technical analysts. The notes that accompany the charts are based on actual investment experience and are meant to support “landmarks” whose’ appeal rests in their being off “the “beaten track”. It’s not for everyone’s taste, it isn’t intended to be.
I have a sister site (The Spiral Chartist) that gives added color to my views, the opinions are my own and all subjects are on the table. The purpose is to inform with humor and a healthy respect for my readers, in a personal style that has received much success over my career. I believe in theories of randomness and have experienced over 25 years that judgmental bias and reckless behavior are truly the greatest obstacles to making portfolio management a successful endeavor that any intelligent person can master and have fun with.
