I'm 31 years old (as of 2013) and immigrated to the US from a developing country. I grew up as a third culture kid as my dad was an expatriate in anther country and then went back to the country of my origin to pursue higher studies. We were always financially tight and my dad was very conservative with his money. Growing up as a kid, I always thought that my life would always be on the financial edge living pay check to paycheck but I thank God that he's taken me a long way since then. I'm living a life that my parents could never dream about. They worked hard and slogged it out and I'm reaping a lot of the benefits today. I've learned a lot about being financially prudent, living frugally (as opposed to being cheap) ...More and saving for a rainy day and having some of your money invested.
