  • 4 Dividend Stocks To Avoid The Social Security Blues [View article]
Good simple straight forward article. The Liberal bias of some commentors is unfortunate. That is why we have the Fiscal/Debt
crisis in this country. Lack of objective and factual thinking got us
into this dilemma. As a financial professional I can unequivocally state that you CANNOT buy an annuity equal to/commensurate with the Social Security benefit recieved. Ask any actuary. It is simply a social welfare program which you contributed to in order to recieve a greater benefit and some age Security at a time when work days were less capable/impossible for many.

  • Top 10 Holdings Of 13 Dividend Income Funds [View article]
My greatest concern is that a retiree will be like an ostrich with it's head in the sand. Choosing ONLY the staid dividend stocks. The caveat will
be that he will miss the great opportunity in the explosive growth of gas
and oil in the coming decade. The pipelines and oil and exploration companies are the new normal and future dividend achievers. Long
KMI, ETE, KMR, ETP, RGP, LNCO, LINE, QRE, VNR. A 70 yr old retiree.

  • Rising Inequality And The Economic Crisis [View article]
The absolute principle of greed is abundant in our society
The politicians sold our country "down the river" with "Fair Trade"
Acts that raised the world's standard of living at the expense of the American people There is NO level ground. The corporations particated by becoming ex-patriots of their own country and principles of American freedom.
All incumbents should be removed-they are only self serving. All corporations should be accountable- they survive because of the military umbrella.
To be a TRUE american is to support our country and it's principles.
The "professional" army, rather than "volunteer" army fostered this detached idea of non-responsibility to our principles and non-contribution to our society.
The immigration policies have permitted a non-heterogenous rise in population that does not assimilate, nor does it want to join into the american societal structure, we will destroy ourselves from within.
The attack of and lack of "GOD" in our culture destroys the foundations upon which we were established.
These are the problems that will destroy our financial structure.
    They are moral and ethical.

  • Equal Energy: Broken Management And A Broken Board [View article]
Seems to me a clear case of fraud/collusion on part of management and BOD. I would think TSX would be interested and Canadian government. Certainly a reason for American investors to think
twice about sending and supporting Canadian companies. It would
appear that fiduciary responsibilities have been abdicated. Time
for legal action and criminal proceedings. You have my vote.

  • Dealing With Panic In Dividend Growth Investing [View article]
Excellent article. First time reading an article written by this author.
The one comment I would make to all readers. History is indeed our teacher and basis for decision making. This country and the world is changing dramatically and perhaps a new dynamic is present.
A new unchartered world may be coming. Unfortunately greed and self- centered selfishness seems to be compounding rapidly. Ethics and character seem to be forgotten words. God is out of favor. Honesty and Integrity are just words.
The caveat that I would make..................... cautious, this may be the beginning of times wherein the old rules do not apply.
I am not a pessimist nor survivalist but just seek a positive
direction in an ever chaotic world

  • 4 Reasons To Avoid StoneMor [View article]
This entire sector is truly a "dying" business. The income generator
is casketed funeral services and adjunct services; flowers, photos, special ceremonies. This traditional "Christian" ritual is quickly becoming replaced by low cost cremation services. The result of economic deterioration and demise of Christian/church historical
    significance.
Adjunct to this is the internal cut-throat corporate environment of companies like CSI(Stewart) and Stonemor. The professional Funeral Directors have been replaced by "Show Me The Money"
Internal morale is at an all time low. They profit by acquisition and merger with terror tactic personnel policies. Given this environment
a slow agonizing corporate death is enevitable.

  • Why 2012 Will Be Way Better Than 2011 [View article]
The fallacy in your argument for 2012 is that, "He who pays no attention to history is doomed to repeat it." We have destroyed so many of the premises upon which that history was experienced and
    based.
I believe a new history is being written. It is the one time experience of a Hiroshima. The ostrich in the sand perspective continues unabated.
Unbridled Greed as a force must be dealt with or no new perspective will ever arise.
    I hope I am wrong.

STON & SCI are both dying assets, pun intended. Factual - look at cremation to burial percentage changes over last 30 years. It is a dynamic statistic. Given the economy, and religion declines, why would anyone suggest a retiree, much less a prudent investor buy?
Thank you for your well researched and thoughful counsel.
