  • This EM Bond ETF's Luck Can't Get Any Worse, Can It?  [View article]
I'm curious to see how the new Vanguard ETF VWOB does since its debut earlier this month. With a 0.35% expense ratio, it has the lowest fee of any EM Bond ETF. I think it currently has less than $100M in assets, but it is growing. Yes, I was part of those previous EMB outflows, but if I jumped back into the EM Bond market, I would probably buy the Vanguard fund.

  • Passive Investors: Stop Worrying About Bonds!  [View article]
Excellent article. Once you commit to a passive strategy, stick with it, re-balance, and you'll do just fine. As Jack Bogle likes to tell investors: "Don't do something, just stand there." As much as I am tempted to change my asset allocation as a reaction to all the recent bond bubble predictions, I mostly leave things alone and try to ignore the news and financial pundits (but I still try to catch an article on Seeking Alpha that gets my attention like this one).

I will say one thing about Tesla Motors. It was a good buy after the IPO. It actually went up instead of down like Facebook. Those who got in there at the very beginning are probably going to hold it for years.

  • The Tesla Motors (TSLA -0.1%) Model S hits Germany to public acclaim as the automaker looks to start selling in the nation sometime next year. Unlike the U.S. where the company is a bit of a political lightning rod, Tesla expects to be very well-received across Western European nations. The bigger question for its European aspirations will be how big the luxury EV market actually is with auto demand cratering across the continent.  [View news story]
