Health Care Bill: Prescription for Disaster

"When you combine this tax hike with the higher taxes that will kick in once the Bush tax-cuts expire, and add in the higher income taxes being imposed by several states, many business owners might simply choose not to put in the extra effort necessary to expand their businesses. Or, given the diminishing returns on their labor, they may choose to enjoy more leisure."

I was at an event with a number of small business owners (including me). This quote is exactly what we were all saying at this meeting. Many of us said that we would literally shut down business once we hit the target income level so we could "enjoy more leisure". Schiff just explains what we were all saying and thinking.

"To burden a country currently in the throes of a violent recession with such a bureaucratic albatross clearly illustrates the scarcity of economic intelligence in Washington."

To have such a scarcity of economic intelligence in Washington means there must have been a scarcity of economic intelligence (or just raw intelligence) among the majority of voters in this country. I hope the people of this country wake up and realize what a horrible mistake this administration is making so we can begin to vote them all out of office.
