As a teenager, got a taste of what the market felt like back in 1987 during the BIG CRASH, but didn't partake in any investment strategies until the Spring of 1997 when I needed to allocate a large amount of cash into equity as I knew just leaving it in the bank was not a viable option. My equity grew tremendously in the next several years and survived through the internet bubble and luckily escaped with minimal losses. Re-invested cap gains during the 1997-2000 period back into the market in October-November 2002 and then walked away from active trading for the next 6 years with only occasional sells of cap gains during that period. Became actively involved back into the market in Fall of 2008 as I employed accumulated cap gains into a basket of 88 stocks purchased between late 2008 to early 2009. Very little active trading in the past 3 years other than selling accumulated cap gains from purchases and some incremental buying of newly acquired shares of equity. Most recent LT purchase was AVGO and ST purchase was AMZN. The market has been kind the past 3 years so more power to the bulls to take it up a notch in the months to come. Happy Investing to All !!!
