  • Getting to Know New Oriental Education [View article]
    The fundamentals look extremely poor.

I believe I own a small amount of this stock through the PGJ ETF. Troubling, but then again it is only a small percentage.

  • What Happens to the U.S. Economy and Market if Thailand Falls? [View article]
I don't believe that Thailand will continue to suffer major unrest (at least nothing that the Thais aren't used to). Furthermore, I doubt even another coup would have a pronounced effect on our economy. Possibly the economy of Malaysia...but not the USA.

I think now is very good time to invest in Thailand, or Thai equities.

  • Gazprom: The Russian Invasion [View article]
I believe that the Russians ARE selling gas to the Chinese. And those sales will increase over the coming years.

Geopolitically, this can be seen one of two ways. Either ourselves and the Russians are not compatible for cooperation in the long term, which makes this move foolish from an American perspective (as we are opening up a new, lucrative market for one of the most potent instruments of foreign policy the Russians have). However, if one is to believe that an understanding with Russia is in our long term interest, to offset Chinese power, this can be seen as a step in the right direction toward improved ties.

Either way, I like OGZPY long.

  • China Green Agriculture Appears Poised For Growth [View article]
I have been watching this stock for almost a month now and I curse myself for not getting in when I had abundant capital.

Nevertheless, all of your points are valid and I must say that, as an American, I see that the Chinese are far more serious about ecologically friendly investments than my own country. I like green Chinese stocks in general and will most likely buy this stock long after I see a slight pullback in price.

  • New Bubbles Are Brewing in Shanghai and on Wall Street [View article]
Bubbles are no problem...as long as we don't get swept away by enthusiasm and stop looking for the signs of a pop.

The price of market capitalism is eternal vigilance.

  • China's GDP Growth Muted - If You Believe the Numbers  [View article]
I wholly agree with WebWatcher. The only similarity between the two is that they both have ruling Communist Parties. And even the CCP is no longer Communist.
China's real estate bubble is not very close to popping either. The PRC is on its way towards creating a super bubble, once the world economy gets its momentum back. Any crash will be over at least a decade away.
