  • Will General Electric Hire Alan Mulally? Sounds Good To Me [View article]
At General Electric, it takes 23 directors/managers and 1 grunt to do 1 simple task.

But if you add Mulally, he will be the the 24th manager trying to tell 23 directors/managers and grunts to do 1 simple task. Then, there's Q/C, Q/A, Legal, Product Assurance, etc...

The mind-numbing bureaucracy, red-tape, fiefdoms and empires at General Electric are worst than Ford.

It would be hilarious if Mulally even entertained to work at General Electric. Let's hope that he's not desperately looking for CEO job. If he has bills to pay, maybe he is... Or maybe, he can sell his Lexus and downsize to a Ford.

    Hahaha.

DAC: What worthwhile product does GE build, produce or provide?

Have you bought a GE product lately?

    What is GE's mission statement?

    What is GE's strategic goals?

Why does it take 23 directors to make a single decision?

    Seriously?

General Electric is a lost cause, a failure, a gutless wonder, a dinosaur-company that time forgot, a wannabe.

What has GE created (or innovated) lately? Washing machines and appliances? Engines for the failed 787? Worthless GE crappy (or recalled) products.

If Mulally was stupid, he would probably take on the challenge of trying to fix GE. Or even break GE apart -- and sell the parts.

But if Mulally was wise, he would steer clear of GE.

Please note that GE is a company that invented "red-tape" and perfected "politics" and "fiefdom" to the detriment of the company as a whole.

  • Why I Bought More Ford Yesterday [View article]
Are you wondering why "Ford stock isn't responding to the company's fundamental progress, making it undervalued"?

Because... Ford makes millions of crappy, unreliable cars. And sells them to people who can only afford crappy and cheap cars.

Most Ford cars have cheap parts from China. Then they are assembled in Mexico.

Ford is equivalent to KIA or Hyundai.

    Hahaha!

  • ARM Holdings Stock Is Overvalued By The Market [View article]
"ARM Holdings Stock Is Overvalued By The Market" -- sour grapes comments from the INTEL camp.

INTEL doesn't need to poo-poo on another company just to look better.

INTEL should focus on focusing on what it does well: to innovate better and more efficient solutions that adds greater value to everyday computing.

  • FAA tells Boeing to fix 747-8 software to avoid crash [View news story]
Robert: I would imagine that's it's Boeing's software that interfaces with GE engines, as quoted: "... saying a software glitch could cause it to lose thrust (on GE engines)".

Since it's suppose to be the same software regardless if it's GE or RR engines, AND it doesn't happen on RR engines, then GE software needs to be fixed.

Disclosure: I have no first hand knowledge of the specific GE engine problem.

  • FAA tells Boeing to fix 747-8 software to avoid crash [View news story]
Just like the Asiana (Korean) 777 landing fatality in SFO on July 2013, Malaysia airline pilots were trained on "auto-pilot" mode: set the direction, push a button and set it to cruise control.

Unfortunately, when a crisis hits, the untrained pilots are unfamiliar with how to fly the plane manually.

  • FAA tells Boeing to fix 747-8 software to avoid crash [View news story]
Why not? If the cost difference is less than 15%, why take any risk at all?

And if you already have mechanics on the ground to maintain the RR engines, then you don't need any lead time.

With all of GE's problems and distractions, GE-engine problems are not GE's top priority.

Curious: what airline is that? United?
