And then the focus will certainly be on the quality of the product when the consumer is no longer being beguiled by carrier subsidies in order for them to choose a smartphone platform. iOS may be more expensive, but when one can place a dollar amount on it, they may understand better what they get for their money.

  • Hey Apple, Samsung's Phones Are Blowing Up [View article]
Using your internet browser and going to a site called Google and searching for "turn off icloud iphone" easily ranks Apple's own support page http://bit.ly/18Y2Ayz

You're just trolling and ya got me!

Same here. I have eleven apps on the app store and have been using iPhones since 3Gs and none of them have bugged me to upgrade the OS as much as the person claims. Just not true.

Right you are. Even they guy ghostlyrich mentions stories of Apple iphones catching fire, but goes on to state how Apple would address the situation versus Samsung.

Yep, the sog35 and what_me_worry have pointed out the most glaring flaw in this touch screen test. I can't believe this Finnish test report still has play.

  • Will Apple Increase Its PC Market With Free OS Updates? Yes It Will [View article]
" the irony of that is that, if you never have to upgrade your computer, Apple will never make any more money off you, either." I understand your point. Like the light bulb that never burns out, means one would buy less bulbs. But what AAPL intends to do is get more people into the eco-system at attractive entry points. If they sell someone a computer that rarely needs upgrading, and they love it, then perhaps an iPhone or iPad or iSomething will be added. And vice versa, an iPhone PC user may jump ship. Like I did three years ago when I wrote my first iPhone app.

  • Intel's 64 Bit Weapon [View article]
A Nintendo 64 is not quite as portable as an iPhone or iPad. The Nintendo 64 would not run longer than 1 second without it's AC cord plugged into a wall.

Yes 64 bit has been out for years, but what phone or tablet was it implemented in? None.

64bit Processors were also power hungry as well. You couldn't effectively implement previous designs in small battery operated devices without compromising its battery life. There were lots of obstacles to overcome to get to the A7.

  • Apple Does Something Amazing [View article]
This has been my sentiment to the "Apple isn't innovating" They sure as hell spent a lot of R&D in this area. Sure it is not the easily visible thing that is easily explained and marketed to the masses. The same people that believe that if they don't see you working, you must not be working, don't grasp the idea of how CPU design can be innovative.

I found your article much needed for this site. Sure it might be "Too Complex" for SA, but if one is to trade AAPL, you have to understand the industry.

  • Microsoft Office For iPad Reveals Critical Strategy [View article]
MSFT has been promising it for two years now. The funny thing is, there are many alternatives to MS Office, that users, including myself, have found that the alternatives work just as well or better.

    Google Docs
    iWork (Pages Keynote Numbers)
    Evernote
    OpenOffice
    ...

I don't plan on purchasing Office for iPad. If I need the full functionality of Office (Mainly Excel) I just do it on my Mac and then use the iPad for data entry/retrieval.
