  • Ten Winners For the New Consumer - Barron's  [View article]
Amazon is a good buy here? Pay a PE of 53 when the consumer spending is slowing and unemployment rising, great advice. They won't release kindle numbers, they would only say its in the investment phase, shady company and accounting.

Do they make any money or have good margins on any lines ? No.

Amazon is way overvalued, its momo stock that must play accounting games to show a profit. PE of 54 and PEG of 2.6 for an e-tailer, right.

You got be joking Amazon is a bloated pig that sells at a PE of 54 and PEG of 2.6. It may be a good company but its way overvalued and its one of the most manipulated stock in the market. It should be selling at more than $50 and thats with a substantial premium. The strongest suit of Amazon its its constant PR. They have no margins and barely make any money. If it was not for their PR department and analyst who are paid shills this stock would be selling at 30. What a joke.Do you follow the accounting tricks they play every quarter to make the bottom line look better than it is ? You should the sad truth is Amazon can sell but they are hard pressed tio make money and put a lot of make up on their financials. Analyst always give them a pass, lets see, the Citi analyst, oh wait Citi owns 20 million shares, no conflict there.

Funny how the media skews everything. They added several cents by lowering their tax rate, that's quality earnings ? Why doesn't anybody mention that? They guided down from 12% to 49% net income for the next quarter, were is that mentioned? You mean its a good idea to pay 82 dollars for a stock that sells at a PE of 50+ and PEG of 2.6 that said its net income will decline an average of 30% ? Amazon can sell but they can't make money. Next quarter they will make 2% to 3% net on sales. That tell me this stock is way overvalued. E-bay made .39 cents a share without the tax gimmick and sells for $16 dollars, why pay $82 for .41 cents that include accounting trickery. The analyst are corrupt if they don't point these things out.

  • Why Amazon Will Continue to Outperform in This Sluggish Market [View article]
Apple makes twice what Amazon makes in one year in one quarter. They have a PE off a PEG of 2.53 and Book value of 12. They will grow zero to negative this year and your suggesting that it has upside. Its a momo stock that sells on hype not reality. No one mentions that Amazons Accounts Payable are ballooning and were over 6 billion last quarter. How long can they postpone paying their bills before depleting their cash? Amazon has the worst margins in the industry that they pad in the manner they do they do their accounting. Amazon's accounting is very deceptive and they actually make less money than it appears. Look at the non-cash DVD sale of the DVD unit last year for more than the unit was worth that added $ 50 million to earnings, yet they received nothing for it. I thought that one should invest in stock based on earnings, in that light Amazon fails miserably and in order to increase sales past a certain point, they will have to sacrifice the little they have.

  • Amazon Looks Even Better Now than It Did in February [View article]
Amazon has always traded on hype, hopes and dreams that never seam to materialize and they have a huge negative retained earnings since inception that attest to what has alluded Amazon and probably always will is profits. How can one justify paying 78 dollars for a stock earning only 1.48 ? Retail sales came in worse than expected today, so are we to believe that Amazon is immune?

Amazon PE reaching nosebleed levels,55 times 2009 earnings. That is great since their growth will be negative 1% this year, or a PEG of 2.5. Is retailing doing that well in this recession, look at WMT and COST today. This is a momo stock.

Ok so you think its fairly valued at 52 times 2009 earnings and a PEG of 2.5 ? Yes they paid their long term debt, but look at how accounts payable have ballooned. Their have not growth in 2009, so what multiple will you pay for zero growth ?
