  • GasLog Partners: Rapidly Growing MLP In LNG Shipping Sector [View article]
What happens to this MLP and all others when interest rates start to creep up.?
So many institutions and retail investors have "chased yields". Just look at the large number of MLP IPOs and lots of secondary offerings the part 24 months. Downside of 10-15% in 2015??

  • Salesforce.com Should Disclose Profit Or Loss By Product Offering [View article]
You say " Accounting principles call for disclosure of the profitability of each component "

What accounting regulations or SEC rules are you referring to??
As much as we would all like the information you allude to :
#1. I do not believe the SEC requires this of publicly listed companies.
#2. I am aware of just one public company that breaks down profitability between it's two different businesses in writing.

Can you please clarify your references.

  • Update: SPS Commerce Earnings [View article]
All of the SAAS software companies have pulled back 15-30% from their winter highs. I think they just became to popular in the short as investors chased visible growth businesses. I expect this sector to recover nicely after their is great clarity on the Nov mid term elections-i.e. will we see any Congressional mix change that would improve or change current tax policies etc. I believe gridlock is good for our SAAS holdings with a steady state legislative environment and no radical changes proposed. CRM,SPSC,SQI,TYL,QLYS,... and NOW remain leading high growth companies all gaining important market share with improving margins ahead.

These SAAS companies may well grow 20%+ over the next 5 year, achieve greater critical mass and see their recurring revenue highly visible business model generate improved margins from these levels of 200-600 basis points from here. EPS growth could surprise, exceed analyst estimates and grow 23-25% next five years. Stocks will be a lot higher in a few years.

Downside is limited to 10% from here. Why sell and pay taxes. Upside is over 50% in next 3 years.

With respect to Marshall's specific SPSC comments of " any customer captivity" I respectfully disagree. Having talked at trade show and user conferences with many of SPSC customers there is a non legal (no contracts) very HIGH STICKINESS factor because of customer and retailer information inventory data in the system. They would not easily or willingly switch to an Oracle nor SAP because SOSC solutions are far superior. More likely that SAP, IBM or another large legacy software vendor seeks to buy SPSC. Would have to be above $85 in my humble opinion.

  • Jefferies assigns initial Hold rating to Proto Labs [View news story]
Stock is trading near $77 and their price target is $32.
Either a mistake or Jefferies (usually good analysis) are really wrong.

Vicki Holt is right person at right time to take over CEO role and lead this company to $1 billion in next decade. New technologies being offered and more to come in next 3 years address a very large global market with superb business model. Superb customer feedback, excellent balance sheet and income statement model.

Quarter to quarter visibility is primary risk as company has no real backlog and some incremental expenses in markeing and infrastructure will be present in next 24 months BUT expanding offerings will diversity and grow base.

A bad market week and some new noise about indstrial production could maybe in short term bring stock down to $70 level but 12 months target will prove closer to $100. Down side 10%? Upside 30%. A true growth company with superior management at all levels and a strong moat from proprietary disruptive technology. Great customer solutions. A great holding for our kids and grandkids.

Wm Blair has excellent reports available and June 12 note from PRLB's presentation at annual Blair Growth Conference.

Nice update and useful comments from investor relations. Our compliments and thanks fir posting?

Besides Goldman Sachs in the U.S. Edison and Progressive in the U.K. do you know of any other brokerage firm research available on this company? Do you think increased research coverage is dependent on the company becoming profitable or more on LSE listing? Thought?

  • Baseline Scenario: Salesforce.com Tanks Post Earnings [View article]
Desire of some of ORCL best salespeople in U.S. and Europe to join CRM tells you where these industry insider see the strength and momentum. Just do not see MSFT Board or new CEO having the stomach to admit they have failed in the CRM space and offer to buy CRM.
Balmer cursed MSFT with the purchase of Nokia phone business in his final year at MSFT. The Board never should have allowed this. It will prove to be a huge headache and distraction for MSFT management. MSFT has seen its best growth days and many of the SAAS purer participants as CRM, CNQR, ULTI, NOW, IMPRV and smaller firms such as QLYS and STRM have much higher growth ahead...

  • Proofpoint: 4 Different Insiders Have Sold Shares This Year [View article]
In my humble opinion meaningless in the short term since most insiders are NET sellers as they prudently diversify their wealth from the core of the companies they founded. After three decades of tracking this data I personally think you want to track if there is a large significant increase in the number of insiders selling at any one point. Insiders are also governed by SEC regulations, OFTEN smart insiders sell a bit knowing they will have a good quarter so they do not have any issue of insider selling on bad knowledge. They know that over time this will average out to their advantage.

Such was the case this past week and today.

  • Wunderlich still sees upside potential for Heritage-Crystal Clean [View news story]
Wunderlich and Wm Blair cover HCCI and presumably will be involved in recently announced potential $100 million HCCI offering. This new upgrade raises several questions in my mind:

#1.This $100 million offering for a $340 million market capitalization company seems like a lot of potential dilution?

#2. If Wunderlich is to be involved in this deal does their new report cause any conflict with SEC rules and policies of promoting stock you may do deal for so close to deal disclosure??

#3. Seems like a lot of potential dilution for "corporate purposes" ? Maybe a major acquisition planned?

#4. Why isn't this SEC disclosure shown on HCCI's website for all investors and shareholders to be made aware of this? IR team could do better.

Heritage-Crystal Clean (HCCI) Files $100M Mixed Shelf

    Street Insider - 6:27 AM ET, 12/24/2013

Heritage-Crystal Clean, Inc filed a registration with the U.S. SEC to sell, from time to time, up to $100 million of its Common Stock, Preferred Stock, Warrants, Depositary Shares, Stock Purchase Contracts, Stock Purchase Units, Rights, Units, or any combination thereof.

  • Aspen Technology: Uncertain Growth, High Valuation = Short Opportunity [View article]
The huge difference in U.S. Natural gas feedstock price versus the rest of the world and our booming increase in oil production will result in several billion dollars of NEW petrochemical plants and expansion all of existing plants and refineries in the 2014-2020 period. Several billon will be financed by foreign companies from Germany, China and India. More than 100,000 jobs might be created.

AZPN will be a prime beneficiary of these developments from existing and new customers. I would take advantage of any stock price weakness in 2014 to get ahead of the subsequent revenue growth, margin improvement from the SAAS model, and expanded international investor interest.

  • NIC Inc.: Waiting For This Fattened Stock To Fall And Why I Want To Buy It [View article]
Historically I have been inclined to assign a higher valuation for a company with higher visible recurring revenues. I have been an EGOV shareholder for quite a few years and have thus read arguememnts similar to yours. I would respectfully suggest different companies deserve different discount rates given the profile and visibility of their future cash streams,
