Thank you for describing potential use of Swap with his shares. This is not my expertise however what investment banker would risk this swap?
It would appear they would have alot of work to keep the number of shares short to make the swap profitable for them to write. They would have to borrow shares that is thinly traded with much SHO buy in of shares to keep it at swap agreement while remaining profitable.

This would make sense for mutual funds to swap their shares to get out of thinly traded stock instead of dumping their shares by themselves. This too may explain high short interest ratio.

Phillips 66, Cononco and Mistsbu are major player in needle coke as well. I doubt Randy and Joel has any knowledge where they stand against their competitor because neither one are experts in this special niche business. Only Nathan does.

In Randy's letter to shareholder, he wants to work with Nathan by asking him for his plan while Randy's plan is financial engineering the firm with no direct relationship with clients nor industry understanding. It reminds me of Mark Corbit, Chairman of Citigroup asking Pundit to turn around citigroup then booted him out so he can remain in power without doing the work.

This is most likely small incident however will be grounds how current management will handle the situation regarding their expertise....
If they said it an already closed plant, what is the residual effect and how much will it cost as adjustment to their financial condition.

The credit line provide will most likely pay $200 million to M however it becomes added expense or expensive way of resolving a bleeding company.

There are several OSHA investigation from prior incidents of employee

Several newsletter regarding graphene and GTI

My take on these news is reason why short interest exists.

Easy to answer if Nathan wins then we know capital will be put to good use turning the company around quickly because he is the only with knowledge of running this specialize unit. It is based on relationships and he has skills for that. Randy and Joel don't have relationship skills to build this business. Just quick financial engineering skills like moving to small corporate office with great talk about their industrial segment despite being down 13%. Psst. This small segment is where Joel came from. If you factor out the adjustment he mention, then it would be down greater than 13%.

Important question from Sal from Goldman Sachs was pose to Joel.
    Sal Tharani - Goldman Sachs

And the last thing I want to ask you is that how does the -- you mentioned that you have some benefit of lower oil prices will come in the second half. How does that impact your Seadrift sale or the price of needle coke externally and internally? Does that impact negatively on Seadrift side or what is the time lag between that and the needle coke price?
Joel Hawthorne - Chief Executive Officer

Again needle coke prices are negotiated on a contractual basis and as I've said 85% of that coke procedures will be consumed internally. So to us third-party sales not a material impact to us as we're consuming 85% of it.

Read this several times and hopefully you will get it. Joel's answers doesn't answer Sal questions..... leaving a large gap hole for further erosion of earnings. It is obvious Sal, analyst at Goldman Sachs knows more about the industry than Joel...

I will be back after M wins. He is the only one with the best chance of turnaround. Current management can't because they don't know the business and they know it.

Greed is Good for a company.
Nathan is trying to recoup and save what was lost by other management.
Current management and Chairman wants to keep their high paying job. They get paid about 300 K trying to turn the company around when they have no idea what they are doing but they are losing their shirt. They really have very little investment in the company. If you add up all management shares, its less than 1%, Plus, they have been selling in the last 3 or 4 months. I am sure they have good reasons to sell. If current management is very confident in themselves then they would be buying. Isn't this obvious what current management is up to? Looks like they just want to keep their job as long as they can.

Let's look at Joel, CEO. His specialty is PR!!! and that is exactly what is he doing.
Board of Director, Randy? He is from previous management that took the stock from 22 to 4.5. I mean really, Shame you Randy for staying. You help previous CEO crash this company. Red flag was all over the numbers pointing to downward. For his participation, they gave him the Chairman of the Board. I am sure you can hear him saying "I am acting on the best interest of shareholder" . The numbers don't like.

I am not short or long. My two cent is very independent. Ark?

Interesting concept in favor of current management versus Nathan....
Loss of 1.16 per share in 2014
    High inventory
Slow booking for 2015 - high risk.
I can go on and on.
The story is what Nathan will do....you say but let just say what will current management do to save the ship?
Mutual funds are out of the picture. They rode down from 22 to 4.50 therefore they really don't care at this point.

Bring out the pro and con of your view against Nathan.......
Demand for steel will be increasing for 2015 in europe however they will most likely get rid of their excess inventory first before purchasing more needle coke.

  • Why It Will Take Years For Uni-Pixel To Reach Production, If Ever, Meanwhile Executives Will Still Get Rich [View article]
Value: How much are you willing to invest till UNXL solve production, product, and Quality (ISO certification) issue? I believe in the last 2 years they spend 20 million?
Your right failure is a good teacher. I think most of long got burned by previous management and now with new management getting closer to solved but then recently hired another engineer.

Do you know how many milestone they need to go thru to get that production?? Many milestone already, how much more to go.

Surely you have to believe they need to hire more qualified people in the next 6 months...

  • 5 Reasons The Oil Sector Is Due For A Big Rebound [View article]
I truly believe oil will continue to slide for awhile. Each country needs more money fast to rebuild their country and the only way is to pump more at lower cost... . Basic supply and demand. Demand is stimulated by increasing supply while profit margin does decrease but sales will be stimulated high. These are short term fast money and they desperately need to rebuild.

It was the many article warning investor not to lose their money from hype concept, with this being the last one.

Tell me more about your high risk and reward concept.
Isn't this the result of high risk/ no rewards? Stock at 48 down to 4.80 from production problems? l

They just hire an engineer so you know they need more expertise but what happen before??? The expertise before couldn't make it work so another expert is needed to fill the missing gap to make it work? What is else missing now to make a product?? Do you know?

I call this the "popcorn phenomenon,” when the increasing heat and pressure of the culture creates a rapidly exploding body of literature to address a pressing concern but never makes anything becomes nothing but vapor

That is ok Ivan. I could understand how you got deceived like everyone else.

Would you care to write another article on what you see as deception in hindsight?

This will help others understand what to look for and not only in this stock but other stocks as well
