  • Target Is Being Unfairly Punished  [View article]
I think the harsh outlooks of the retail season quoted by Nordstrom and Macy's has people jittery about the sector as a whole. I didn't see anything in Target's Black Friday deals that I feel are noteworthy which would draw people to the store versus competitors.

  • The Turnaround Accelerates For AMD  [View article]
Well said sir. I am mid-term bullish NVDA still due to their efforts to get into the whitebox phone market in China, thus getting their Tegra chips selling somewhere since, for one reason or another, they can't get them into any new products in the USA that are eye-catching or innovative, except you consider 'Project Shield' a positive.

However, to remain on topic, AMD is putting itself in a niche category that is an obvious bonus. Should the confirmation of the updated XBOX along with the already known PS4 will be a boon for AMD's bottom line. Their Server chips business is growing, so I am long on the idea that AMD is on the right path to getting itself straightened out.

  • Wells Fargo Will Add Substantially To The Fortunes Of Shareholders  [View article]
Not to mention it's a Buffet favorite; for any of those who keep tabs on his picks. WFC has been growing in my area, the west-central Florida region, once it picked up Wachovia. I would say it has time still to dig it's roots into the area but I believe the bank is on the right track.

  • Nvidia: Significant Upside Ahead In 2013  [View article]
I think SHIELD will sell decently. I can see how it would be comfortable to lay on a couch or on your bed and blast some zombies. The games they featured looked very good and the product is receiving some "BEST OF SHOW" awards.

I am long NVDA and was a tad surprised that they pulled this rabbit out of the hat. I am still on the fence with the idea; I saw a picture of the product and was even more surprised - it looks like something from a bad 1980's sci-fi flick.

I'm not so sure that there is a huge market for portable gaming anymore, so it seems as though they are trying to revive a product line that appears to have lost it's luster with the American public. The best thing I think about the product is the Tegra 4 chiip and the 291dpi screen able to video out up to 1080p.

The fact that Tegra 4 is being released I think is important line for NVDA - Those things can power SmartTV's which will be the next big push (especially if Apple unveils a TV with Smart capabilities as rumored to be doing so) and shouldn't go unrecognized.

Still long NVDA, the current price is undervalued - I don't think the street is giving enough credit to NVDA's future efforts even though they are establishing themselves well in their pursuits of the next phase of nVidia.

  • Buy Sony Hand Over Fist  [View article]
One should remember that Japan is being reported as going to see future of rising inflation; that pressure alone will not be enough to stimulate exports if other countries (USA) are slowing down on purchasing. I think the strongest argument you had in your article could be the currency risks, but at the same time I'm bearish on the overall state of the economy. We (USA) still have a lot to figure out, and SME (Small to Medium Enterprises) are not going to be hiring, more firms will lay people off to improve their operating expenses so they lead to higher margins of profit so they can meet investor demands.

Excellent posts.. I had looked at KNDI this summer myself, however I too couldn't make all the pieces fit for my tastes --- and rightfully so.

  • It looks like T-Mobile USA is finally getting the iPhone: Deutsche Telekom (DTEGY.PK) says its U.S. unit "has entered into an agreement with Apple (AAPL +2.1%) to bring products to market together in 2013." It doesn't provide further details, other than to say the deal will hurt DT's 2013 free cash flow (likely thanks to big purchase requirements/subsidies). Many were expecting an announcement this week. MetroPCS (PCS +1.7%), slated to merge with T-Mobile USA, is up a bit.  [View news story]
I have not seen reports or details that HSPA+ was better then Verizon's LTE systems? Where did you get those details?

  • Mexico Could Be The New China  [View article]
The drug cartels are only prevalent in the north western and north eastern parts of Mexico ... where most of the population and industries do not live or operate. Not an issue, really.

I agree on $COH - I got into position at the high $59 range and I believe that COH will continue to grow in Asia, where there is room to grow for this type of product. I anticipate a strong next quarter that includes the Chinese New Year.

  • Will AMD Pull A Nokia And Double?  [View article]
I don't think most people would recognize that these systems utilize similar graphics platforms. However, XBOX 360 came with AMD's products and I expect the 720 (or Infinity) to come with some serious AMD power packing units. Sony has been rumored to also be in the works with AMD for the upcoming PS release.

  • Will AMD Pull A Nokia And Double?  [View article]
I like your writing style and have read a few articles on AMD by you. It's helped to get a few things considered when I layout a potential AMD position. Haven't decided yet, though. I am worried about the internal cost cutting and future product development concerns. I personally think Apple should purchase our AMD should it go under or close to, they (Apple) are ramping up their hardware division on chips and AMD would be a good fit with some of their recent designs.

I'm inching closer to putting myself in a long position --- inching closer my friend. Thanks for the article.

  • Red Flags Drape Green Mountain Coffee Roasters  [View article]
    I'm long GMCR.

However, you are not taking into account that GMCR just acquired licensing for products like Snapple teas --- Also to mention is the Rivo, which you appear to have forgotten to mention, is going to be a better quality machine then the Verismo. Even on Starbucks own website, last I looked, Verismo rated a 6 out of 10, mainly because of how many different pods it took to make the espresso beverages (a lot of pods.)

This may be great for Starbucks for those Starbucks nutty-lutty's that probably have Starbucks cups, mugs, hats, shirts, stickers --- those people who can't live without a latte twice a day, however people who use coffee every day and want to take advantage of those specialty drinks, will give the Rivo a chance, especially with the big name of LevazzA.

Starbucks, though, just purchased Teavana and with their efforts to get into the Indian market, I think Starbucks is also a bullish stock for ~2+ years. Good moves by both companies, so I will give SBX it's credit.

  • Microsoft Could Emerge A Winner From Mobile Warfare  [View article]
Let's not forget that with the current Surface running Windows RT with the 32GB option earn a whopping 52% profit margin on each unit sold.

Microsoft has significant business resources and connections to solicit and sell Microsoft Surface Pro's to business once they arrive in early 2013. Imagine the profit margin earned on a $1000+ tablet capable of replacing laptops?

See, most people aren't getting the picture with what Microsoft is attempting to do. They are building "creation" devices not just "consumption" devices.

They are attempting to make Laptops and Netbooks look like archaic and bulky technology with the production of Surface. The current tablets really only took PC sales away from people who only utilize PCs for storing pictures, facebook, amazon and youtube. This is all now shifting towards cloud computing and 4G/WiFi access points for entertainment and news.

However, production use for PC's (or Creation not Consumption) is not evident for the broader market on a typical iPad tablet or Android. Surface aims to fill this gap.

Since the Surface comes with a USB port, the size of your HDD is only limited to how many Externals you want to utilize for your project and backup storage.

  • Make More Dough By Watching REIT Dividends Grow  [View article]
I appreciate your efforts to write this article. I can see why it would be important to note the growth that one expects to achieve from REITs that may be hurting now, but have room to raise stock price as well as dividend payments, making it more valuable. We hear how the housing market has turned or hit bottom within the last few months - JPM and BAC execs making announcement that they believe the market has turned the corner in the US.

That seems promising for a strategy like this, building on dividends and expected growth in the housing market.
